What Is a Top List?
to the top
A Top List is similar to a link list, except they rank the sites on numeric
scale measured by the amount of "hits" you send to them. When you
sign up at a top list to exchange traffic, you are given a special code to link
to them with. When a surfer clicks on the link and goes to the top list you
are given 1 credit. Some top lists show the "In" hits (you send them)
and the "Out" hits (they send you). The more hits you have in, the
higher you will be on the list. There are many types of top lists ... Top 50,
Top 100, etc.
How
do you find a top list? to
the top
There are many ways to find a top list that fits your niche. First you can search
for sites with similar content as yours. When you find one that is connected
to a top list, check that list out. If you like it sign up, if you don't well
then don't. Pretty simple, eh? Now just click on the sites that are listed on
that top list. Look around at the site and you'll probably find links to more
top lists (which should still be the same niche of that site). Now click on
the link to the different top list. Rinse and Repeat.
How
do you choose a good top list? to
the top
1) You need to pick the Top List according to how many hits you'll be sending
it. If you're thinking of signing up for 3 top lists and you'll only send 25
hits a day to each top list, then you don't want to sign up for a top 50 list
where the #50 guy has 45 hits at the end of the day. If it's like that you won't
get listed. Now if you sign up for 5 top 100 lists where the #100 site has under
25 hits at the end of the day then that's where you want to go!
2) Now you'll want to look at the ratios. If they have an in/out ratio then you can see what traffic goes through the site. If they only have a listing for hits sent in, then try to get one with a #1 spot of 300+ hits and a #100 spot of 5 hits or something close. My point is when you are sending in 25 hits those 25 people click on somebody elses site, the one with 300 hits means there's 300 surfers for you!
3) You also need to check out the site. Make sure it would be a site you'd like. A pop up is okay, but clean top lists = more bookmarkers = more traffic.
4) Try and pick an anti cheating top list. Top lists like these usually have a double click system to prevent fake "in" counts. For example you have a lesbian site linking to DildoBiznitches Top List. When the surfer clicks that link they are sent to a page that says "This is DildoBiznitches Top List! Click Here to Enter!" Once they click Enter, they are sent to the top list and you get the credit. Free scripts send the surfer directly to the top list. So if a top lists is using this script to count hits somebody could just sit at you're site and click the link over and over and over to get credit.
What
do I say for my title and description? to
the top
Okay, so you found a good top list, you're ready to sign up, now you have to
really think. Look at the sites with the highest "out" hits. (if no
out hits are listed, look at some of the higher "in" hits). The higher
"out" hits show more people clicked on those links because their title
and description sound good. Now try to make something better. Think your site
being a sponsor, what would you say to get people there? If you're site is free,
say it it. If it's not, don't mention it. Also match the text of the other sites.
If they are all capitals then go all capitals in the description, if they aren't
then do a capital letter for each word.
Example: Teen Top List
Title: Tight Ass 18yr Teens from Sweden
Description: Teens so young and naive that they let you do anything
to them! Cum see what incredibaly huge things they stick in their holes!
Example: Shemale Top List
Title: Extreme Teen Hot Dog Hiding Nymphos
Description: The youngest cock swallowing shemales your Mom would
approve of! Tons of pics, cocks, and tight assess!
How
many top lists do I sign up for? to
the top
As many as you want. If you have an AVS site or free site, you should think
about 3-6. This gives you a traffic boost but leaves room for clicking on your
sponsors.
How
do I send traffic to the top list? to
the top
Now you should be ready to send traffic to the top list. Forget slow loading
pictures, use text links. It's not a good idea to say "Click for Foot Fetish
Top List" instead say something like "Click to smelly feet trampling".
A great way to get hits is to put them in a table on a seperate page. Make the
page pop up on exiting on your AVS sign up page, and your Main page. (don't
forget to use the onclick exit=false). This way when the surfer doesn't buy
from a sponsor they get nailed with that "free" page when leaving.
Here's a rough example. Surfer comes to your site, looks at porn, doesn't click on a sponsor, closes the window - a window pops up that says "Visit these FREE sites!" with links to the top lists - surfer clicks on a link and it pops up in a new window - surfer closes YOUR window and you can have a pop on exit script there too - POP up comes a sponsor window. Now you have gotten hits to the top lists and had a final pop up sponsor page
When linking on an AVS site, do a pop on exit console link on the AVS sign up page as well as the main page. You can also put a table at the bottom of your main page in the members area.
