Newbie Project of the Week "Outdoor Tales" (Part 3 of 3 in our get ready for summer projects.) If you havn't done parts one and two, then go back and do those. You will be expected to use the skills learned from them in this weeks project. This week we will be carrying on with the prep work to have a good solid summer this year. We will be making an outdoor themed website with it using a story to tie it together. In other words a story site with thumbs about an outdoors event. Choose one of these types of outdoor events to build your first site about. Now that you have that picked you need to know that this isn't going to be a normal story site. We are breaking away from the mold of normal free sites for this one. This site will have 9 pages to it, not counting mirrored and avs entrances. It will also have a "classy" looking background to it, with each main area of the page in a table with a solid background color. Take a look at this page to get an idea of what i'm talking about. The Site Flow Start off with a normal free site entrance page. Warning, recips., etc.... Except there are two entrances. One for person 1 and one for person 2 (you will use thier names for these links). Above the entrance links you have a single pharagraph of text starting the story off, and leading the surfer to make thier choice of which person to follow. Which they do at the entrance links. Be sure to say what is happening, what event is talking place. All the text(the story) will be in first person after this page. In other words, you are that person, it is from your point of view the story flows. For both people this is true. So they will have vastly different views of what is happening, from thier own prespective. Capture this and the interaction between the two people in both story lines. Let me give you a brief example to help you understand the front page text. Tom and Nancy head out to the country for a picnic on the very spot they first kissed as teenagers, 20 years before. As Tom drives the car down the long lane thru the warm fields, a gentle breeze keeps the mid july heat from becoming unbearable. Both Tom and Nancy smile wickedly at each other as the pull up to thier special picnic site. At the same exact moment they both blurt out, "I have a special suprise planned for you today!". Click Here for Tom and his suprise. - or - Click Here for Nancy and her suprise. There you go, a small example of what i'm explaining for the entrance page. Note: For AVS entrances, make a special inside page with this same lead in as well as on the outside sales area (which will use the AVS entrance as its filter). The inside pages Each person will have 4 pages of thier own point of view to the story. Each person will have a different 10 thumbnailed pics (20 total for site) intermixed on the first 3 of the 4 pages. The entire story of each must fit on the first 3 of 4 pages, excpet the final paragraph. This final paragraph will be at the top of the fourth page, with a targeted FPA or HPA directly below it. Recommend this sponsor there! Tell the surfer the site is over, but better stuff can be found there. The FPA or HPA should be the ONLY sponsor on that page. With a small link at the bottom leading to your filter or hub site. For sponsor placements on the 3 full story pages I suggest the use of 3 sponsor ads per page. One odd sized banner with sales text in the middle or top. One tabled text only sponsor link (well defined as a sponsor link and not the story). And one tabled ad using sponsor button(s) and text. These should be targeted and in the top, middle, and bottom spots on the pages with the link to the next page below it. Use these in different positions on different pages, but stick to the same ads and graphics. The only graphics that are not linked to a sponsor should be the background and maybe a site logo. Note: There is NO main page on this site or crosslinking in any manner with the other story. Make EVERYTHING ready for search engine submissions, then do them! 3 pages per day per domain. Make the content match the story as you go along. A good sponsor spot is just under a matching thumbnail pic. Remember to use the skills from the first two summer projects in doing this project. When you finish this project, REPEAT it to help maximize your profits! Now go make some money! And stay profitable this summer! Voltar VNWR Where newbies learn to earn!
