Contact Lists, a NPOW
A VNWR Newbie Project Of the Week

This weeks NPOW was going to start our Halloween building.
But with recent events, this project was more needed at this time.
Next week we will be starting our building for Halloween.

You will be building your own personal contact list.
If you have ever been in business prior to your business on the web,
you know how very important a contact list is.
Sure there are software programs that could help you make them for your PC.
But that's not the only time you need them.
If your computer breaks down, or you are on the road,
anytime you might need to have that information away from your PC.
Or if you just want quick refernce to the info.
A contact list is very important in business.

A contact list online is very simple to make.
You make a table that is 4 cells wide.
The 4 cells are for these following items.
  • Name
    Easy one, you place thier online name and real name if known, here.

  • Clickable Email Address(es) and ICQ
    Email addresses for the person that open an email in a new window when clicked,
    and the ICQ number of this person. Both come in handy.

  • Clickable Company name and URL(s)
    Make the link to them or thier company open in a new window when clicked.
    This is a good place for a alternate url to find the person
    in case of a major emergency, like a credit card company going under.
    It's also good to keep payout percentages and amounts in this section, when applicable.

  • Info/Personal data
    This is where you keep track of any current, past, or future deals and information
    with this person. You also can keep things such as habits, birthdays, likes dislikes, etc.
    Any little nugget of info to jog your memory about this person.
    This allows you to deal with them on a more personal direct level.

    And It should look a little like this when you are done.
    this is the hidden part of this NPOW, you will find it handy to have some anime ready for next weeks halloween npow
    This project is a little like the work smarter not harder project.
    But should be stand alone, but could be linked from your work smarter project.
    You should name this page something unique and keep the link 100% private to yourself.

    Maintance
    Keeping your contact list maintained is important as well.
    I suggest keeping an exact copy of the one online, on your home/office PC.
    When you do edits and additions to your contact list
    you do them to the one locally.
    The you upload a copy of the local one to your server.
    This gives you two accessable copies of your contact list.
    Which should cover you in most cases.

    You will find that this contact page becomes more imprtant to you as things happen
    and the net ebbs and flows. It is a business tool that you should not be without.
