A VNWR Newbie Project Of the Week

This weeks NPOW is one that will help you get more traffic to your sponsors.
One thing we all want out of our sites we build
is to get the surfers attention on the ads so we make more sales.
Which is hard to do with todays surfers
heading straight for the free samples(content) on our sites.
But, this NPOW will help you do it.

Visulize it in your head as you read the below.
and then build what you visulize.

We are doing a normal free site.
This project concentrates on doing a specialized
attention ad on the main page of the site.
You can only use ONE of these ads per site,
or they lose thier effectivness,
so don't put them anywhere else on your sites.

The main page of a free site is often done poorly.
And not used as the attention getting tool that it can be.
Just make sure you don't go so large as to be considered a FPA,
or many link lists will not list you.
But it is not just a place for links to galleries.
It is a sales page!
And in todays NPOW here, we are going to make it a sales page.

Place this type of ad at the top of your main page.
You need to make a table 650 and one cell wide,
and 3 cells deep on the table.
The top and bottom cells of the table will be a solid bright color
and about a 1/4 inch tall from single line of text in it.
Red background of this cell with yellow or white text works well.
This text should use the marquee tag and scroll from left to right.
And should say something like:
Attention!!! Pubic Surfer Announcement! Attention!!!
Top and bottom cells should be the same message.
This is to get the surfers attention.
It should not say anything about the niche or be sales text.

The middle cell will be where you start off the text to sell the surfer with another
unlinked very large sized "ATTENTION!!"
This middle cell is the color of the background of your site.
Which should be for this project a white or black color.
Then under it you do a short sweet clear sales pitch,
taking up at least 3 more balanced lines of sales text, but no more than 5.
Including a reason why you made this pubic surfer announcement
Make sure you give them a link to click to get the best of something
and that something should match the niche of the site you are doing.

Under this ad you can have simple links to galleries
and maybe another small text based ad below them,
but not another one like you just made, a normal one will do fine.
Note, there is no graphics on this main page.
So you not only save bandwidth, and give yourself SE text,
and gave yourself a better chance at making a sale,
but you speeded up your site quite a bit too.
This can bring you higher listings at link lists and thus more traffic.

I must stress that this must be done in a manner
that is clear and bold.
That gets the surfers attention a way a PSA(public service announcement)
does when it comes across your television screen.
Do this and you will have done your self right.
