I've never been one to jump on the new hot color anyway. It all just depends on where I'm fishing. If you throw a chartruse and flaming purple in farm ponds that aren't fished much, the bass are going to ignore it. They like the natural colors like pumpkin seed, motor oil, black and off-white on less flashy and less noisy lures. Now a lake that's fished heavy? Lots of flash and some noise ussually works because you have to irritate them into striking. At least that's been my experiance. I never did that with a coffee can, but we used to take a cast-iron skillet and an old oven rack we'd put over the fire with some oil in it. Soon as we'd get a few caught we'd clean em and cut the meat into nuggets, throw em in the bag with the flour then cook em. Snack on the nuggets as we kept fishing. Every once in awhile a few fish actually made it home to grandma. I don't think she ever did figure out why we weren't interested in the catfish she cooked that evening. hehehe... i remember as a young adult..20ish..me and some buddies of mine would go night fishing..and catch a mess of small cats..10 inches..maybe a foot.. and right there on site, we would gut them, behead them, defin them and toss them in a ziplock bag with some flour and salt..shake them up..and drop them into a coffee can we had sitting over/in a open camp fire there beside the water, filled with a bottle of cooking oil from the convience store on the way there... and we would have nice flaky white crunchy catfish right there within a short time of catching them.. if the fishing was bad and we only had a couple, we would make hobo stew with it..tossing the meat in the coffee can and filling it cans(tins) of green beans, stewed tomatoes, beer, corn..ect.. those were some hearty late night meals...good times had by all! :) Voltar (President) Message # 160520 148.78.249.31 Wed Mar 3 10:50:05 2010

First I start thinking about my ex-wives, then I nail they're head to a board after I gut them, then with pliers I pull the skin from the tail up to the head and cut the head and skin off in one quick chop. I was fishing for Largemouth and smallies. But, like always, I had a zebco rigged with a hook and bobber, baited with a nightcrawler just in case the brim wanna bite. But it's normal for there to be a lull in the bass catches just before they start to bed and spawn. So I'm thinking after we get through this cold patch we're in now, things will start to warm up and maybe they'll be spawning next week.
