A fella on the comic book forum was talking about sending some of his coverless books to be bound into a book. Did a little research and gave it a try. It's in the 50's right now. Suppose to be in the 60's tomorrow, lows in the 30's. Suppose to get cold again Friday and sleet on Saturday. They learn to let the calculator or computer do everything now. Seriously, you remember how we'd get our calcualtors taken away until we got into the more advanced math? Now they encourage them. The nail polish soaks into the page and gets it wet. This don't. The butane freezes and evaperates as it thaws. lay it on the residue before it thaws and it freezes the goo causing it to release from the paper. Kinda like putting ice on gum that's stuck to the bottom of your shoe, except you don't have the liquid run off as it melts. Yea, but sometimes you find old comics at flea markets and thrift stores that have had the label pulled of and the goo was left on it and it's gotten all dirty and nasty. Or if it still leaves that residue when you pull it off, you can take a couple paper towels folded kind of thick and lay it on a hard surface, then take a can of butane cigarette lighter fluid and press it down on the towel till you get a little on the towel, then slap it real quick over the residue on the comic before it disapates. Rub it a little, careful not to bend the cover of the comic or magazine. Takes the residue right off without damaging the ink or the paper. I actually was able to wear a t-shirt and jean jacket outside today and was comfortable. Got up to 45 I think. They're calling for 61 Friday.
