I finally got tired of messing with the anti virus I'd had on this thing, They sent me a email saying they wouldn't be supporting the 07 version and I needed to update to the 09, free of course. Something about it conflicted with vista. and I crashed. Went and bought a new virous program supposedly made to work with vista and all was well... till I tried sending a video I'd made from a family get together. Then I'd get a black screen, then blue, then it would restart itself. Got tired of messing with it and uninstalled it too, downloaded avg and been using it... been a week and a half now and no problems. {eyeroll} I think the virus biz is a scam. I think the companies that make the software are the ones who keep unleashing the new viruses and worms just to make us idiots rush out to spend more money on their latest crap. Of course the two sides of the family for years have seemed to come back together in marriage. Two will get married and then sort of spread out for a couple generations then a couple 4th or 5th cousins will marry. Goes like that for several generations. Ahh the country life! hahaha I just find the stories the older folks in my family tells amazing. Like mama disscusing daddy's navy days the other day. When I was a kid I never thought much about it. Not that I thought any less of his service, but he served on a gasoline tanker during the last year of the war. No great battle stories to tell. He never told me much about it, but mama was telling about the things he had told her about being on the ship while navagating through mine fields. My father was an electritions mate, so he was down in the guts of the ship mostly. I can't even imagine doing that. Every thunk and creek that ship made had to be near torture. And knowing you're sitting on a tanker full of diesel fuel too. I'd take a gun and take on a hundred men before I'd be stuck in there like that. I think I'm going to make a page on my site with all that stuff, maybe set up an email account and ask for people if they want to submit stuff about their relatives ships. Sort of make a thing of it. I got a bunch of pics of the crew of Pops ship fishing off of it, so I think I can make it fit into the fishing theme of my site. I was getting some smoked picnic slices and fiels peas to make for supper. Was good too. Boild some country ham peices with some chopped onions then dump the peas in and let them simmer for awhile. Threw some corn in a pot and let it cook. Made a hoe cake. I think some people call them johnny cakes; you mix cornmeal, water and a little salt and fry it on a pan with some bacon grease or crisco. You can make them about the size of pan cakes, but I like to make it fill the pan and just break off what you need after it's cooked. Put some butter on top... good stuff. The I put a little olive oil in a pan and fried the picnic slices.... Only thing better than getting a supper like that would be gettin' some pussy too. I was at the grocery store yesterday, the lady infront of me was buying flowers and disscussing how beatiful they were with the cashier. The lady said they were for her mother.
