well you can sure tell who been out of touch with things the week can't you, Jojasa :)
the whole 2257 thing is no where close to being done yet, challenges are coming and several already filed lawsuits will effect it..
i wouldn't worry one single wit about how it's rule is written at the moment..that all will most likely change...
and yeppers banners would be included...alll of google and yahoos image sections would also be included and have to be removed according to the way it's written, because they have no way of obtaining all that info...
so yea don't stress on it yet...

lots of other things to stress over..like why i've been down the last 24 hours..

my power supply burnt up last night on my computer..
but i got a 300watt to replace the 250 watt one i had it's running fine now..

oh what fun it's been....

so how are you supposed to know if the rest of the set of pictures had hardcore if what you bought 5 years ago was only the softcore pics? How will they know? And if you built free sites using only softcore pics from a large pic set two or three years ago, those sites have to either be compliant or come down too? So are you saying that basically even the softcore sites (as in just one person in the pic only taking off clothes and no sex of any kind going on) have to be 2257 compliant because later that day they did hardcore pics and it's all on one series of pics?

I won't even start on all my bdsm stuff... it's all going to have to go.

Remeber the devil is in the details. The new regulations also state in so many words that even a softcore image if it was taken from a set that contained hardcore it is then subject to the same requirements as if it were a hardcore image thus also requiring the proper documentation. Very sticky as alot of the points in it if it passes as is.

Evening!

Typing w/kid in lap so I`m making it brief for the moment. My wife is out to a class today and dinner afterward so I`m wrapped up for a couple hours more.

I also have quite a few views on the 2257 thing but kind of was saving them in hopes I could condense it a bit into an article.

The real killer for me was pulling half and full page ads. Some of them got me really nice SE traffic click thrus to the sponsor.

I'm going to be switching out tons of banners for softcore ones now... There's no way any webmaster has records for the pictures on banners.

jojasa,

You have it almost right. If you display(publish) a depiction of sexually explicit conduct, YOU have to have the age docs.

Yes, the hardcore banners need age docs to back them up.

No, if the hardcore banner is on your website, you have to have a 2257 statement declaring YOUR primary place of business. The affiliate programs are now out of the loop starting June 23.

good afternoon world...

does anyone have any idea if the 2257 law includes sponsor banners? That is, if you have a banner with hardcore on it, do you need a link to that sponsor's 2257 also?

Good morning VNWR!

japamor - they need to be installed on your server. You can run PHP as either an Apache module or as CGI. They are services which must be set up to start when the server is booted up.

QOTD: Heavy and thick, like trying to walk through and breath water. (Note: humidity is the issue here in the south.)

Voltar you have mail.
Very basic question. I've downloaded Mysql and PHP. Do they reside on my hard drive or do I have to upload them to my remote server?
Cheers

Evening!

Well it felt like every pore in my body was a little steam engine stoking the waves of heat that course through my body and surrounding it in it`s own humid glistening atmosphere. Every movement becomes a surreal event in a heat induced and euphoric haze. At once seeking relief and at the same time reveling in it.

evening everyone...

troy that depends on if they are raw hits or page loads..page loads would mean 10k pages loaded, but think of it as tgp traffic, thats what it basicly will be from the images section...just a bit more targeted.

question of the day, you all blew it...
you were suppose to describe it in text what it would feel like being that hot..

something like this...

The heat of the afternoon invaded her bedroom and sleep like the passion that she had felt the night before on the same sheets. The heat brought back fevered erotic dreams as in her sleep she pulled her panties tighter and tighter agianst her now moist woman flesh...the heat of the afternoon finally awoke her from her erotic slumbers with everything from her sheets to her panties damp and warm. She awoke to a new evening with lust in her loins and a need to quench her inner fire...Click here to join XXX Sorority Girl Tammi Now!

that was what your descriptions where going to be worked into, and shown how to do that...
i have a feeling text is going to be very important in the adult web, so you all should learn more and more...

so go for it ..try the question of the day again and get spicy as you do...

question of the day...
**********************

Absolutely miserable, makes me feel very panic-y.

4 years ago Old Tom and I went out into Death Valley in July. Don't know what it was during the day, but that night it was 126 degrees. You could see the wavy lines of heat rising in the pictures we took. Thought I was going to die. I hate going out in extreme temps, whether hot or cold.

Hi all!

Q of the day. It`s never been too hot for me to go outside. I was the madman you saw climbing to the top of Camelback Mtn in Phoenix in 115 degreee heat. Of course up there was the only breeeze in town that day! Most times of the year I refer to my friends as weather wimps. It`s always either too hot or too cold. Personally I think it`s just laziness.

Yeah I`m a unique one!

Good Morning VNWR :)

Yum, have you tried vitamin C :)

Leslies Pool Supply sells a stain remover ($32.00 for a bottle) that is pure absorbic acid. From my experience it removes damn near any mineral type stain on a pool and you don't have to stop swimming when you use it. Coolest stuff. When my steps start staining out I just throw a handful in and you can watch the stain just disappear :)

Yep, PR has been doa for a few days now. There's speculation that google is up to something...perhaps even doing away with PR altogether. But then, in this business there's always speculation about something...lol.

john, i'd say poke around and find ones you like the look of..then go tot the bottom of the page ans see what type/who makes it..most of them have tht on it..and follow thru from there..
but rule of thumb..the fancier they are the tougher they are to set up and maintain...
stick with simple and add your own stuff in after that..you'll be happier about it that way, especially with load times..
you can find blog software for free and almost free all over the place..so it should be simple for you to find it..tucows.com, download.com, etc..

MrYum..out of commision on a holiday weekend..ouch man! but it'll look better afterwards :)
that'll teach you have gals over that pee in the pool!

Morning everyone...

troy..sorry i don't do it that way and have always highly suggested no one do it that way either...
all you need is a simple 404 .htaccess on the domain root..
and a protect one i your top most content directory...(as in keep all your content indside of thios directory and its subdirectories, not per each site)
here is the .htaccess for it..
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !http://www.yourdomain.com/ [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !http://www.yourdomain.com/:80 [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !http://yourdomain.com/ [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !http://yourdomain.com/:80 [NC]
RewriteRule /* http://www.where-you-want-them-them-redirected-to.html [R,L]

and remember you need to be on a computer running apache, usually a unix based machine..
so if you have front page extentions, it's about a 99% chance it's not going to work there...

Morning all,

Thanks Voltar and Robbo for your comments about toplist traffic.

I have one other thing.
I am making .htaccess for some new sites.
I use this code:

AuthUserFile /dev/null
AuthGroupFile /dev/null
RewriteEngine On

ErrorDocument 400 http://www.extremebukkake.ws
ErrorDocument 403 http://www.extremebukkake.ws
ErrorDocument 404 http://www.extremebukkake.ws
ErrorDocument 500 http://www.extremebukkake.ws
ErrorDocument 501 http://www.extremebukkake.ws
ErrorDocument 503 http://www.extremebukkake.ws

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.extremebukkake.ws/.*$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.extremebukkake.ws:80/.*$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.extremebukkake.ws/.*$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.extremebukkake.ws:80/.*$ [NC]

ReWriteRule .*\.(JPG|jpg|JPg|Jpg|GIF|gif|GIf|Gif)$ http://www.dutchbukkakegang.com/GGG-movies.html [R,L]

That works fine only when you dont enter / behind the domain name like
http://www.extremebukkake.ws

You don't see the pics.
Can someone tell me what to add to get those pics working?

Thanks in advance.

cool robbo, i'll look for it..

japamor...your question..
a simple ssi can do it..you simply make 31 galleries or links to galleries..and number the pages 01 thru 31
use the ssi to pull up page number that matches the day number of the month..
so each day you have a new one there for each day of the month...

Voltar (President)   that's how this tgp is done :)

Evening All
QOD - as its a holiday in the UK as well (just a normal bank hol, not a special one like in the US) I've got to work. I work in a hotel so my hours tend to be anti social and i work when everyone else plays. But BIG Bonus - the hotel is on Broadband - and I get plenty of time to use the computer. I've got to be careful obviously, I don't want any elderly guests having heart attacks after looking over my shoulder.
My own personal QOD is about scripts. Is there a script available I can use to rotate galleries daily? It must be easy enough for an idiot (me) to install and run.
Thanks in advance.

AnnieB...the check off list things sounds like an applet, what you could do is a simple blog, with and applet(or java) on the side..that might take care of it..
but other than that, those type of things are pretty much custom made ones...
but you might want to go to tucows.com and type in thier search feature, to do lists ..and things like that..there may be some good ones there..not sure if they would be for online or not..could only be for your pc..but you didn't mention if you wanted it online or locally...but i'm sure some options are there :)

I may have an impromtu cookout here depending who of our family is doing what. I know one thing though. I do plan to get some fishing in this weekend!

Voltar did you see that guy caught that 124lbs blue catfish the other day? World record! Damn thing was almost as big as I am! LOL

LMAO Robbo and Barron.

Thanks for a humorous ending to an otherwise crappy day, guys. :D

The scary thing is that I understood every word... <insert twilight zone theme here>

Real quick QOTD reply: Working Saturday, Sunday BBQ with family (probably the last time we'll get to see my sister-in-law out to here... she's due any day now!!), Monday off to practice being a slug. Not terribly exciting perhaps, but just what the doctor ordered for this worn-out wench.

Hope everyone enjoys whatever you have planned this weekend. TTFN :-)

Evening!

Barron I had the feeling it was something to that effect too.

Dear Webmaster, Due to fluxuations in the gyroscopic telemetry of your immediate propagational latencies the time space continuum will be nonconformative to the actual passage of time relative to your exact location upon the terrestrial sphere.
Thank you for your understanding.

Voltar,

True! I'm not even sure why the webhost told him about it to begin with. The webhost should have left it at "it takes up to 72 hours" and left it at that.

Yeah it sounded kind of odd
Thanks Voltar

********************************************

Actually, this isnt odd at all. "Time to Live" is what drives how fast a person typing in your domain name will actually be sent to your website. Its an important part of the DNS system. The average person doesnt even know it exists though.

Imagine this, you have website mydomian.com and when you signed up with a webhost he created ftp.mydomain.com, mail.mydomain.com and www.mydomian.com.

Now its three months later and for whatever reason you decide that you want your email address, me@mail.mydomain.com, to go to a different box at a different webhost. You email your current webhost and say, "Please change my email server to from 111.111.111.111. to 333.333.333.333". Now all requests for the ip address me@mail.mydomian.com will be directed to the new webhost/server.

But, how long will it be before the changes take effect? Thats were the Time to Live part comes in. If the TTL is set to 1 hour, the DNS server will give out the old address until it updates on the hourly pass. Example: if its 12:30 when you make the change, at 1:00 BIND will start giving out the new ip address.

If the TTL is set to 1 hour, why does it take 48-72 hours for the internet to update? There is a long explaination, but the short answer is that the DNS server you use is not the only DNS server in the loop. DNS servers, when they seek the web for address translation, ie: mail.mydomain.com equals 333.333.333.333, will cache that info so it doesnt have to seek the web for every request. The part that matters, is the second or third DNS server has its own TTL. And will update on those settings. Nobody knows what that TTL setting is DNS servers outside their control. But, there is a gentlemans agreement out there that 72 hours is the maximum setting.

Thats why its always reccomended that you keep all your pages activate on the old host while you waiting the the change in DNS to the new host. At some point during all of this, some surfers are going to the old server and some are going to the new server because the old webhost is cached if the various DNS servers.

So what the host was telling you, is "Hey look, we know that you need to get your domain propagated across the net quickly so we set the TTL to 15 seconds to help speed things up. But, ya know what, that chews up a lot of server resources re-caching every 15 seconds and after your domain has propagated its really not neccassary to do that any longer so we change the setting to 12 hours. Dont worry about, we take care of all of that for you and it will transparent to you and the entire internet."

To recap, there are 3 DNS servers that come into play for each time you type in a URL. Your ISP, the registra for the domian, and the DNS server at your webhost. They all cache the old address and all have different TTL settings. All three have to match before the surfer will see a web page served off your new host.

Caveat: this is a very over simplied example, but I think you will get the gest of it.

Thanks Voltar!

I guess I was too mild on toplists last post. But if I could get my toplist traffic to the volume of tgp traffic I can gather for the same effort I`d be a pretty happy camper! :)

jeff, never heard of such a thing..usually they leave live copies on both during the dns transition..and you have low to no problems..then afterwards you pull off the old one...

troy toplist traffic is miles above tgp traffic on quality..but not on quanity...

Hi VNWR, Hi Robbo!
I am moving a domain to a new server, the host explained turning down the TTL is what normally occurs before the move, any comments on what he wrote below?

from the host to Jeff; "When the TTL (Time to Live) was turned down, it means that the refresh rate on your DNS information throughout the rest of the world is much lower. This way, when your IP address is changed during the server move, every 15 seconds (approximately) your DNS information will expire and when someone types in your domain name, it will lookup the most recent information.

Normally, the TTL on domain names is set around 12-48 hours because the low refresh rates consumes too much CPU power on servers (in general). About 24 hours after your site is on the new server, the refresh rate will go back to the default setting.

Hi Troy! I know I like my toplist traffic. I see sales refered from pages of those that can be tracked. In cases it can be better and others the quality can be worse. You can usually get a general idea by what`s listed on them and thier level of maintenance etc. if the traffic will be worth anything or no better than 404.

By the way how you doing on smoking. You know I relapsed. But there is still hope.
