Hi guys!
I'm back! Hugs Voltar.

Been away dealing with family stuff. My son is still in the hospital with 2 and 3rd degree burns, but it's time to get back to work.

I'm working for lotzadollars doing this and that. So I'll be on everyday again now. And i'll be catching up on my link lists and creating a new one for lotzadollars. And trying to catch up on what's new in the biz. I think I've been gone like almost a year now!

Hugs to everyone

I know how you feel MrYum. We had the A/C guy out this past Monday. $222 for 2 1/2 lbs of freon and a hundred dollar "booster" part to kick it up. It was explained when a compressor starts loosing freon it also looses oil, blah, blah, blah. lol. And the damn thing still isn't cooling. Unfortunately I don't have the 2k for a new unit atm. I just bought this house last year. The downstairs heat pump is like 19 years old and the upstairs just a few years younger.

On the bright side Phantas modded my case and installed 2 more cooling fans so at least my computer is not overheating and kicking off :)

On Star Wars Volty *evil grin* - I will wait till it comes out on DVD. We have a decent surround sound system. I'd much rather watch it comfortably (read in my panties and a t-shirt with a homecooked dinner and a smoke after, lol) at home rather than fight the crowds at the theatre. I am a big sci-fi fan though. Anyone want to watch all the Star Trek movies with me? I have them all hahaha.

Evening All!

Hi ya Volty! Yea, Sare beat me to it...but ya know how he is...always the first one to pop =)

Hmmm...fav subject...well duh...SexEd of course! I was a teachers aide in that one...hehehe

What a freakin frustrating couple days it's been. My A/C heat pump died yesterday...got a guy out here to give me an estimate. Says they can install a new heat pump Friday morning...ok...fine. Well, this morning...I start doing some research...find out the fucker is trying to charge me 50% more than any other reputable a/c folks in the area. Needless to say...that contract has been cancelled :(

So now, I'm without A/C til Monday or Tuesday...good thing I have a pool! Sure is hard to work on the puter out there though...lol.

Hope everyone else had a better day than I :)

Good Evening, Y'All!

Why is it that the weekday spammers rarely come back on Sunday and make an official post for LTS?

PB, I think Turkmenistan is somewhere in the Middle East, if I recall correctly hearing a FOX newscaster talking about going there last year.

My favorite subjects in school were English and Algebra. I went to an all girls Catholic high school and the nun who taught me Algebra taught my daddy Algebra when he was in high school. She had been around for a long time. Wow, if those nuns could see what I am doing now, would they be surprised. :))

ChristyB and Angel, give Phoenix Rose a belated birthday hug from me! Now where are those pics???

Evening

I didn't have a fav subject in school. I was just stoned all the time. I was really into martial arts however. Never went to college, unfortunately. But started my own biz in 92 which pretty much saved me in many ways...

Now I like paleantolgy, archeology and astronomy.
And they all tie in together.

I guess Voltar you are now a webmaster engineer!
And one of the best (most likely the best)

Evening all
My favourite subject was English and still is really. I've always got several books on the go. At the moment one of them is by an American author living, I think in the UK. He's called Bill Bryson, from Des Moines, and he normally writes fantastically readable and funny travel books. The one I'm reading is different - its called 'A Short History of Nearly Everything' and that's exactly what it is - and you just can't put it down.
I'm sure I had a question or ten to pose but I've got sidetracked. Watch this space.
Cheers all.

Happy Holiday of Poetry everyone! lol, that's celebrated in Turkmenistan - where ever THAT is. Geography was never one of my best subjects in school. Of course US and European geography hasn't really changed since then but the Asian geography seems to have changed constantly. Countries coming and going all the time, with South America not that far behind.

What were your favorite and least favorite subjects in school? My favorites were music, science and english in that order. My least favorite was history. Math was kind of in limbo. The way they taught algebra was confusing but geometry was very cool.

Have a porntastic day all!

Strange - I seem to have lost the middle of a paragraph there - lol...

It should read:

We had a really great day; Phoenix is SUCH a beautiful little girl, she has a smile that simply melts peoples hearts, and in 12 months - not one single day has gone by without her bringing a tear to my eye!

... etc etc

weird - maybe the boardbot was trying not to puke so he censored it - lol

You're right Voltar - plenty pics and videos to embarass her with when she's dating one day - lol

Phoenix Blue - It never bothers me... my eldest son's name is Michael - I used to call him Mikey when he was young - now it's Mike or Michael :)
My 2nd is David - I call him Dave (always)...
My 3rd id Richard - I call him Rich or Richard, (it used 2b Richy - lol)...

As for Phoenix - I call her Fifi at the moment, I will change it to Phoenix when she's older (if that's what she wants)!

Nat would be a bit sad - lol - Natalie is a really nice name though.

I deliberately picked names they could "arrange to fit the way they felt" - lol - I always think it's nice when a guy can alter his name to suit his situation/age (like robert, bob, bobby etc)!

-----

We had a really great day; Phoenix is SUCH a beautiful little girl, she has a smile that simply melts peoples without her bringing a tear to my eye!
When she laughs EVERYBODY who hears her laughs with her... she has the most musical laugh I've ever heard! (it even makes Michael laugh which is not an easy for a 13 y/o most of the time - lol).

Anyway - that's quite enough of the gooey stuff! Sorry 2b such a soppy, doting, parent-type but she really has lit up every day of my life since she arrived - and I'm sooooo glad to have her :)))

'nite all xxx

Thank you ChristyB. Her name is Rebecca (all her friends call her Becca to my dismay). I've always been like my Mom when it comes to names, Michael (my youngest) I never allowed people to call Mike or Mikey. Not that there is anything wrong with those names... just that I named him Michael not Mike. Same for Daniel (no Danny though he's now decided at almost 20 he might start introducing himself as Dan - I suppose he thinks it's more "adult" lol.) And my oldest is Ruth and Ruthie was out of the question lol. My own name is Natalie and growing up Nat and Natty were forbidden which I am thankful for as I've always liked my name as opposed to sounding like an insect hehehe :)

Back to slinging for me, have a great evening everyone!

Robbo, that is so cool that you are taking your daughter fishing. Some of my fondest childhood memories are those special times that were spent just me and my daddy. When we went fishing, it didn't matter to me if we caught fish or not, the prize was just the two of us being together.

With the 148,000th post coming up..
a little reminder :)

Starting back on April 1st, 2002 anyone who posts on the VNWR main board and gets a pink number post for hitting the 1,000th number, will get their name tossed in the hat. A lucky winner from that group will be pulled at the first of each following month.
Each month starts off fresh with no one in the hat.

VNWR, DFN, and WFA staff are exempt and can not win. In case that they do get one of
those posts, the next valid post will be the winner. All normal posting rules apply, no
spamming, no posting more than a couple posts in a row just to get the number, etc.
Breaking these rules will invalidate that persons chance of winning.

What will the monthly drawing winner win?
Max Cash has made special arrangements:
The winner will receive 100,000 banner impressions on TrafficOverdrive banner exchange.
Thank you MaxCash!!

PB I put in the bed for my garden last fall so a late spring would`nt hold me up. It was so wet last year I could`nt get one done in time so this year I was prepared!

Good morning VNWR!

Moxie? As in chutzpah, ballsy and cheeky? Or as in spunk, gumption, and mettle? (i.e., audacity vs determination) Either way I'm full of it, lol. (And yes that statement is fair game for any playful and witty repartee anyone is in the mood for. *wink*)

Your garden sounds great Robbo. I meant to put one in this spring but just haven't had time.

Lucky you MrYum - I would soooo be in heaven with a pool.

Jojasa - Geneaology is very fascinating. We've been able to trace my Dad's family back to the early 1500s.

Happy Birthday to Phoenix Rose! It's also my youngest daughter's B'day today - she's 18 :). My youngest son turned 16 on Monday. My eldest daughter will be 22 next week. And my oldest son 20 in August. He's the odd man out, May seems to have been the month for me, lol. I told my Mom I kept trying to hit her birthday which I finally did with my youngest son.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! May the pr0n gods rain profit upon your porn slinging!!! :)

Barron - Interesting; I'm assuming there's more to it because it seems simple enough as written!
Looks like the content suppliers will be most affected but doesn't seem to be expecting anything that isn't already required - so I guess I'm missing something!
*******************************************

No one knows for sure yet. I'd post a link to a news article but its on another board.

Bottom line is no one knows what is in it yet. I know what was in the proposed changes.

No one should get in a panic yet until we know for sure what the new changes will be. Besides that, AVN had an article with promises of court injunctions when Gonzanles signed it. So its still way to early to tell whats going to happen.

I surf with explorer and firefox (use explorer for reviews 'cos I need to know if there are any consoles)...
Am gonna install Mcrapee firewall again soon, just finding the time 'cos it takes a while to configure (am also looking into zonealarm).

Jojasa - Been feeling really rough this last week or so, terrible cold :( Thanks for the sentiment though, I hope you're well :)

Morning everyone..

wonderboy..nope ..no npow on movies because newbies sholdn't be messing with them..the bandwidth will drive a newbie broke if they don't know what they are doing..
the free hosting you are referring to..would be sponsor based free hosting where you can promote only them..
otherwise why would someone let you burn thier bandwidth and them not have a chance to profit from it..
this is business buddy..you play you pay..it's about that simple on bandwidth issue..

thanks robbo glad you liked it...

laz, welcome to VNWR...
check out the resources and the past newbie projects, they have evolved since that time and continueing to give you money making ideas and projects to follow..many of which hubs are just the bare basics of it...
as far as partner stuff goes..look at whom and where you read that crap from...it's very jaded..meaning they have a vested interest in pushing certian agendas...
and nope avs isn't dead, jsut some people got burnt by certisn programs..you can still make money from avs and use it to get prequalified traffic...
again check out the resources section called past projects..the newest are at the bottom..up to about a month or two ago(i need to update it)..but you will find some inspiring stuff there :)

good answers to the Q's of the day yesterday everyone..and they should help all newbies reading them know what they need to set up on thier own computers if they havn't yet..very helpful :)

Hey & Good Mor/Noon/Night to y'all
Fo the QOTD: I use XP fire-stinky-wall, with
a positive thinking that it does the work (only need to block the ports which MS left open, i guess combining two of their software will do a complete work :) ).

Now for my question of the day ..

I want to build a movie gallery, but I never did any, I think I saw once some good pointers about it in one of the NPOW but can't recall which.

The movie content comes from the sponsor and its allready edited to short MWV.

Is there a place I can upload those movies for free and keep them there for downloading instead on using my hosting?

Hi Lazarus! That about sums it up huh! Well alot has changed but the game is the same as far as hammering free sites and galleries with the infrastructure to boot. Then onto fake tgps toplists real link sites and so on. Just that the numbers are more spread out these days and niches even more nichey with many new ones to explore. Partner only places abound and more going that way but still many smaller open submit ones too. Plenty of traffic is still out there for the determined! You know the saying no easy money and that is about truer than ever. But the cream still rises and checks keep coming!

Nice NPOW! Get those surfers clicking!

Hi all, first post here so be gentle :)

Not new to this business, but after 4 years away it sure feels like it. Lots of changes that make me think my old work methods won't work any more.

I used to buy content and do daily gallery submits to TGP's and free sites for links lists like GreenGuy. I did daily SexKey sites and then once a week a premium AVS site. And the whole lot was linked together with an old VNWR newbie project hub (really), so it worked well and I doubt I could have squeezed much more use from my content.

Now I read that TGP traffic is down unless you have a lot of partner accounts (okay, I can work to get them back), but links list traffic is supposedly down too and AVS is dead (at least no-one seems to be talking about AVS any more, even on the programs own boards).

Am I reading the signs wrong or am I right in thinking my old strategy is well past its sell-by date? If so, what's an oldie/newbie to do these days?

ah Marie, i thought of that..but since you are only sending them there to see more of that gal then it shouldn't be a problem..most will get lost with all the stuff inside that they will be happy for a while and go look for other local gals to bop..or escorts..
all in all it's a good way to increase your bottom line :)

yeppers sweetness it sure is..glad you liked it :)

Good Evening Y'All!

Interesting NPOW, Voltar. Nice way to get ready for the long, hot summer.

Answer to QoD: Yes, I use protection -- Zone Alarm, Adaware, Spybot. I rarely surf with IE. Use Mozill@ for browsing and for email. We are on cable and roadrunner has a pretty good virus stopper on the email system as well. Also, I never open any email attachments I am not expecting. For the past couple of weeks we have been deluged with spoofed emails with zip files attached but as of this weekend they seem to have stopped. Now we are getting a boatload of emails in foreign languages with six to ten links in the body. Delete, delete, delete, repeat. Empty trash.

Been spending the afternoon catching up with some backlogged bookkeeping tasks and gotta get back to it, but wanted to say hi and put my two cents worth in for today.

Voltar you won't piss this hooker off...

but you might find a few 'punters' or 'clients' pissed off if they follow fake leads to what they believe are real hookers... and then find they are not... just a thought.

I was just thinking of the charge backs that might come with it... just another thought... unless you are actually sending the surfers who are interested in escorts to real sites using real girls from those hooker sites...

Good evening everyone!

QOTD...nopers...I run completely NEKKID! I DARE em to mess with my box! HA!

Ok...so maybe not entirely true :) Hardware...router firewall...all ports stealthed at the router. Also, run NIS firewall/virus. M$ spyware scanner, Adaware spyware scanner. As others have mentioned...knock on wood...no problems to date :)

Oh, ANY webmaster mail gets left on my servers...where I first check it and see if I want to d/l it locally. About 99.9% is nope...DELETE!

All surfing/reviews in Firefox...mail client is Thunderbird :)

Now darn it Voltar...stop that! This is the 2nd time in a week I'm gonna have to disagree with ya there big guy :)

While I won't say I agree that they SHOULD be doing it. I can say that some of the more important link lists ARE now randomly checking Whois info. And yes, it's yet another attempt to weed out some of the riff raff in our biz.

Personally, I couldn't care less if they look up my Whois. I hide from no one...hell, my neighbors...friends...family...ALL know what I do for a living. I say it loudly...I say it proudly...'I'm a Porn Slinger!' Frankly, I think the world would be a better place if more people were less inhibited about their sexual desires :)

For those that have their reasons to have a private Whois...don't know what to tell you. Other than perhaps to contact the specific list owner and explain that you're legit. Don't know that it would help...but probably couldn't hurt either.

Now then...BACK to work! Another TTT should launch later tonight! Here surfer surfer surfer...hehehe

brian, anyone doing a whois on you because you submitted to them has a much bigger problem(mental to some degree)...
sounds like one to scratch off you list to me..
note, i know why they would do a whois..but to do one is getting to carried away..pariniod a bit even..
(note, they are trying to keep repeat offenders out)

Hi, Everybody!

QOTD - I use Zone Alarm, Firefox and Spybot Search and Destroy. So far, so good.

I wanted to thank everyone for their input in the "Anal vs. Ass" debate. Lots to think about after that discussion. Christy B, I loved when you suggested going to look at the sites in each category...D'oh! Sometimes I need to get slapped with the obvious. :-)

Speaking of submits, I had a site declined today because I have a private WHOIS. Anyone else run into that? Is it a disadvantage to have my info private?

Well, gotta go put the finishing touches on a new site. I hope you all have a great evening!

QOTD: Ditto on the hardware firewall on my router. I also use Sygate Personal Firewall, antivirus software, anti-spyware software, and I have a proggie my tech gave me that will remove imbedded stuff; I have to run that one manually and believe me when I say it's NOT for the inexperienced computer user! Oh, and I surf with Firefox and use Thunderbird for email... got tired of the constant patching and updating with IE products.

I use my computer and the Net for my day job as well and, bcuz it's in the medical field, security is paramount. I've never had a single problem with my setup... in fact, it works so well I did exactly the same on my mom's computer with the same excellent results.

Have a great day everybody! :-)

Q of the day. I`m with PhoenixBlue. I use the hardware firewall on my hub/router and a combination of those same software programs and one or two more for other protections. I`ve been liking avg for antivirus for a while now. All my stuff seems to be running well together at present.

I always felt zonealarm though efficient required too much input from me allowing this and that all the time or bothering me with it`s observations.

Hi hi hi everyone!!

QOTD: I don't use a firewall on my computer. We keep all ports blocked on our router. To keep nasty stuff from getting on my computer and initiating any incoming packet authorization I use FireFox, Spyware Blaster and Spybot Search and Destroy. Unless I'm on a site I know is good, all activeX, java, javascript, popups, etc., require my approval to run in my browser. I also run anti-virus protection on my email client above what my ISPs use. If I get an email from someone I don't know but it looks like it might be a real email I'll open the properties and source to see what it is (exe's and script can't run there - only in the email client itself). There may be more or better things I can do but I haven't had a problem in about 2 years using these precautions.

Hope everyone is having a "mah-veh-lous" day!

Do you use a firewall on your computer?
not meaning antivirus/spyware programs and such, but a real fire wall like zonealarm..

Hi!

Just another fast post for me this afternoon.

I was reading more crap about the newer version of nortons and the adblocking turned on by default. Just what we need..more obstacles to overcome. I ditched nortons after it failed to stop some infection some time back. I swear deep down those companies are all on the same team. And not the same side we are on!

Before I go off on conspiracy theories I`m headed of ...eh nevermind someone is calling me with the next task aleady!

Exactly Voltar... I've had the email blockers of my isp turned off cause they use programs that block a lot of isp's just based on the amount of spam that comes from then. I wouldn't get half of my mail if I used spam blockers, wouldn't even get the mail from my own domains. lol

OT had a big problem with aol blocking his regular isp, he couldn't send mail to a lot of our friends on aol cause they considered his isp a problem.. and it wasn't even an adult isp.

Message # 147918 68.77.0.211 Sun May 15 13:03:26 2005

yea, thats the trouble you get into when you try to block things, there is always something unexpected you block that you don't want to...for the adult industry there is no accepable blocker that won't take out half your valid emails too..

Message # 147917 148.78.247.10 Sun May 15 12:06:54 2005

looking at the letter closer Mr. Yum.... i send all my mail through sbcglobal which is my isp now. and that is tied to yahoo.... and you are blocking mail from "free" mail so it zoomed in on the yahoo part and refused my mail. All of sbc global accounts go through yahoo, so you are probably blocking a lot more than just free accounts.

ChristyB your doing great considering! I`m damn near worn out! LOL

I started to learn perl with some tutorials. I got to writing a guestbook script and then it took a backseat to other things but definitely a cool thing to know as alot of scripts and things we use involve perl. And when you use them you can usually find at least something you want to tweak too!
