Hi VNWR :)

Mikeyddddd, you're welcome :)

Hi Troy :) - I know it's not a Dutch word but a lot of Dutch and German surfers use it in their search engine queries apparently! If you search 4 it you'll see what I mean... I only found out when I added a link to a sponsor site of that name and started getting the link ranked by the SE's (heh) I get a lot of surfers searching for that term from NL and DL!

Hi OT - Hope you liked my li'l palm/elm play :)

Hi William, JeffG, Mr Yum, Donald and Voltar :)

Yep well I had 2 I built a 1000 page site, which is starting to see good se traffic and I built a 10,000 page site which was banned but as I said this was due to there being too many identical pages

Hey JeffG

Google bans sites in different ways!!! The nost severe being a manual ban which usually bans all sites under a specific ip address!! I know some pretty big webmasters have had this done to them!! But you really need to be kicking the ass out of it to get this!!

Some pages may drop out of the index, these pages are not specifically banned but due to fluctuations in the database and indexing! They will appear soon again!!

Also to find out if your site has been banned go to google and type in this: - site:www.yourdomain.com and hit search! If it comes back with results then your site is not banned if nothing comes back and you had pages previously in google's index then you've probably been penalized by google! Another way to check is to type this "yourdomain.com" and hit search and look at the results.

In my case I had about 4000 pages exactly the same and didn't block googlebot from indexing them, so basically I get penalised for it!!
A stupid mistake actually as I should have made sure the pages were ready before I uploaded them!! I'll learn the next time !!

evening everyone...

well Jeff, you could always sell Real Dolls with that niche..
i've seen some like it before,
drop me an emaila nd i may have a place that has some content for that :)

troy..you shouldn't use style tags in the A href tag...simple reason being, that when you are talking about whether or not you get a check, you should not take any chances at all that it might not be counted and you get credit for the sign up..i highly reccomend never messing with sponsor codes except for a simple mouseover..you are much safer that way..as you never know how the sponsors software will read it as it comes into to them..

mikey.nope don't know here per say..i've heard the screen name there..but can't refernce how or where...just i remember hearing it..or seeing it somewhere..

Good afternoon everyone,

Hey Robbo congradulations! I don't think I have had a full nite of sleep since Cameron was born.
So I got in the habit of working half the nite on the puter. It sure is fun though having a little one running around.

I found a slew of odd fetishes. Maybe I can stump some of the veterans with these:
How about "agalmatophilia" If anyone has some content for that I'll do some free sites.
If not, I will go to the mall with my camera.(hint)

Message # 140483 - BTW how would you know if you've been banned by google? I have had some pages removed and I can guess why, but completely banned? Did they tell you that?

Deleted all the pages and now their unbanning it lol That will teach me lol!! but got some really good listings on other sites so it compensated for the ban lol!!

I find it difficult with sponsor content cos some sponsers have exclusive content how can I promote them with regular bought content?

Hi Moonkitn and thanks! Best wishes to you and Tuna for your awaited arrival too!

Voltar yeah I thought they`d be pretty strong intials. But I`m hoping he`ll be too smart to be president! hehe

Knight I`ve seen similar things but those hidden keywords can and do get penalized many times. You have to be careful how and what method is used. I have a few domains with search engine portals on them whih interlink among users. I`m not sure if it helped but it does get a few extra hits for me here and there. The results I had hoped for did`nt quite materialize but I don`t think this particular one hurt either.

A liilte read of the news online and I`m going to get moving for the day.

Morning everybody,

Voltar, I ran into a site (fairly large SE-Portal type site) besides the fact that the keyword section had over 150 keywords, they had a section in the code that was put as a description. It was placed at the bottom of the page, but only viewable in th code. This section was worded with a ton of keywords and phrases, must have been 2000 words or more. I know people try all sorts of so called tricks, but this thing was unreal in scope and was on more than just the index page. Ever see that? Just curious.

Morning everyone...

troy..don't know how many surfers you have had on that site..could have only been one..you need to give a bit more info :)
but i'm looking at it real quick :)
well..you do have some screwed up code on the site..your sponsor links have an extra space then a " then another space before your mouseover code..which could be why you arn't getting full credit for clicks..it may lose tracking because of that...but your pics show totally nothing at all..good odds that most places wouldn't list it..because there is zero nudity..and it appears to be sponsor content..
you need to get some bought content if you want listings and traffic...
also your sales and linked text is dissappearing in the other text and colorful backgrounds...
which is always bad for getting clicks..
remember it's not about the size of the text..it's about getting their attention to the clicking part of your ad..
Also..you have one link that is a A style..instead of A href..
so you really need to check your code back over..

Robbo..what a name man..GPA..interesting initials..but a good solid name..could be a president with that name man!
:)

Gabe was my wifes great grandfather and Pasquale was my grandfathers birth name before he hit Ellis Island!

I can`t seem to get myself towards bed! Of course I have my eye on the three cousins in thier teens in the other room. I remember my yooth too well..probably why I let them stay up so late.

actually..i don't think it's totally down unless you use IE..which means that it's down for 80-90% of the surfers(altavista)..
i think the SE's filter according to browser(major browsers)..and thus you get the others that work..but this one is the one that it can't get to..BTW..can you reach altavista and do a search?
i can't from here..
but yea google is up and running and with the others having the msot problems it would seem normal that they would get more traffic then..so yea i can see you getting more traffic because of that...

As for me..well..a bit tired as you can imagine. We went to the hospital last night and I have`nt slept much the past 3 days. Hi Kira..
you submit to as many SEs as possible..usually a dozen or so..
if you look for the past project call SCP, you will find out how to basicly take over catagories on smaller SE's and get lots of traffic from them as well..
there are free submits still to most search engines..altavista, yahoo, google...etc..all have them...there is a list or two still active in the SCP project..one of those list no longer exists..but the other two will give you tons of SE's..
the goal is to get 5 SE hits a day from all the SE's total on average to each page you build..so by the time you get a thousand web pages out there..then you are getting 5,000 targeted SE hits a day...it takes time..but concentrate on the 5 hits a day per page and you will find that a reachable goal...and time does the rest for you..

as far as subdomanis and sites..i litterly have domains with thousands of sites on them..so there is no limit :)

as far as to submit or not..there is ALOT of misinformation out there about not submitting things to SE's..this stems from others in the SE's lieing and trying to get you not to be compitition for them..submit everything AND place a link of it on a page that already gets spidered too..so you do both...

use the golden rule when submitting to SE's
"3 pages max per day, per domain, per SE"
and you'll stay safe and not be considered spamming them...

use your root of your domain for other things..some sort of trap, filter, or private link type site works best..
sub domains get lsited as hig as rots..there are a thousand factors that help you get high listings..find what combination works for you and then repeat :)

I've been going through the tutorials and newbie projects and am wondering if you could answer a question regarding SE submits. In many of the projects, it is suggested that we submit our pages/sites to the SE's. I'm wondering which SEs to submit to, and whether there is a list somewhere of the search engines that spider rather than manually review sites that accept adult site listings.

I was under the impression that only Google is worth submitting to and that there aren't really any more SEs out there that have free listings for adult sites (?)

I'm also wondering how many sites you put on a single domain (using subfolders), and what you do with your root domains. Do you actually submit all the Newbie projects (subdomain sites, hubs, fpas, pages) to Google and other SEs or let the SEs find them on their own?

It seems like it would be best to try and get as much one way incoming targeted traffic from unaffiliated sites to your root domain as possible for the purpose of ranking better at Google. Am I way off on this?

Sorry to bombard you with so many questions in my first post! I greatly appreciate all the wonderful information and advice I've received from this board.

I love reading the DFN, so inspirational :)

Voltar, cool idea going back and giving those early rejects another shot; it's also nice to look through old sites to boost your confidence - lol - makes one realise how much one has advanced (even though it doesn't feel like that most of the time)!
Cool NPOW too, just right for the summer months :)

Let me know when Internext Vegas moves it's venue to Gloucester and I'll be there - lol

Magus - Nice article, I always enjoy reading your contributions :)

Hey - the traffic report's good - I particuarly like #17 :)

Robbo - You need a holiday - lol :)

Another great issue, thanks Robbo and all contributors :)

I better go do some work...

Hi vnwr :)

Thanks Voltar - you flatterer :)
Ohh - and thanks for the heads up re the SE's... funny but my traffic hasn't been much affected (probably means it's increasing - woohoo)!

Donald - I do understand, there's something about a musical instrument, almost like a soul, difficult to explain but easy to feel when you start to play it! I can sure understand why yours has so much sentimental value and its nice to have something special to remember your Gran like that.
I have 2 friends with Ibanez guitars which are both excellent :)

Now - I'm gonna read the DFN :))

ChistyB, the Ibanez I have is an old one, I bought it when I was 16. A Roadstar I got in 1986. I had it on layaway, and worked all summer long to earn the money for the payments. My Grandmother helped me out with some of the payments. She had been in the hospital for a couple weeks with cancer, she passed away 10 minutes after I made the last payment and got the guitar. It has more sintamintal value than anything else. I must admit, when I play it...I forget where I am. No other guitar does takes me away like that.
It's hard to explain.

no problem Knight..you are welcome..

BTW..if any of you havn't noticed what has been happening in the last 24 hours with t he 4 major SE's here is something that should update you..
http://isc.sans.org/diary.php?date=2004-07-26

short of it is they are under a virus attack..and it's clogging up the works and making searches almost impossile ..or very very slow happening..
its the MyDoom virus that is doing the damage..

with what is at atke you can bet they have people on it around the clock..teams of them i would guess..
but don't be suprised if your SE traffic drops by half... for the short time..
it comes with doing business on the net..
like codegreen and i were saying..the ebb and flow of the net..
so no one panic or get over excited about it..it'll clear up..

i also suggest holding off SE submits until this is over as they may well get lost in their work on them or you couldn't get to them to do them..
it should only be for a very short time

although i must say...i did jsut check again and google seems to have gotten over the hump at the moment and loading fine.but altavista and yahoo still seem bogged down..
adjust accordingly..
:)

zzz's all..

Good evening all!

Yet again...another great DFN! Thanks much for the extra effort Robbo...it certainly is appreciated :)

Very good advice Voltar...I've recently revisited a few niches that did terrible for me last year. This time around...the numbers were so acceptable, I've added those niches back onto the list for future builds :)

Nicely done Magus...very well said my friend :)

LOL! Excellent Robbo! A very inspirational read!

Yanno...the DFN is always good...always a fun read. Something about THIS weeks version though...perhaps just a bit more uplifting than usual. Or, perhaps I just needed it a bit more than usual...lol.

Thanks to all that contributed to a great DFN!

Better get back to my galleries...they're stewing nicely...here surfer surfer...hehehe

Hi VNWR :)

Troy - I had a great time working in Holland, all the Dutch guys seemed to enjoy the humour, I had some unforgettable nights out (like the one when I wasn't the smallest person in the bar - lol)!

Robbo - I used to have a les paul once & I loved it but it was so damn heavy (weight and sound - lol) so when I started a "modern" band in the early nineties I needed something with a little more flexibility - I got a real deal on this Jackson and it's just fantastic; top quality everything (lol), a wonderful range of tones & an action anyone would die for... I don't get much time to play lately either but it lives next to my chair in the lounge (plugged into a huge rack of f/x and amps - lol)

Donald - I was gonna get an Ibanez, been a fan for years (not so much the tone, but some of them play really well) and I travelled a long way to a UK main dealer, looked through the whole range, none of them were set up well and I just wasn't impressed... It was on the way home I stopped off at a little music shop in Oxford and saw this wonderful Jackson limited edition soloist - lucky for me it must've been a slow week for them 'cos a few thousand bucks, one infra red mic and 2 old guitars later I took it home! Every other musician I know loves it and I know I could sell at a huge profit - but... it'll never happen :)

I finally got a new cd deck in my truck today..burned up the old one a while back. Looks like my father in law will be coming in tonight to stay a few days with us. Now my wife says she`s feeling stuff and called in to work. Ooops now the phone I better get going..lots of work to do tonight too!

It also helps a lot to learn US (mis)spellings
(like that takes long - heh heh - it's just like real English but simpler)
and (more important IMO) the terms they use in everyday speech that help us figure out WTF they're talking about :)

LOL Christy I love how you english now to put things.I wish we dutch had that kind of humor but for you its the only way to survive on that eiland ofcourse :)
