Tod if you can`t afford a server side search and replace script or maybe just don`t have your own server bkreplacem works great on the pc side. A pretty cut and dry program. Tod...OT's server side search and replace is slicker than snot! Had a situation a few weeks ago...had to change dozens of links...on thousands of pages...across 2 servers...50 or so domains...BIG fun. Still wasn't exactly an easy task, but that little script took a virtually IMPOSSIBLE task...and got it done in a couple days :) Thanks OT!!! Tom I have a copy in the garage somewhere, that is an old classic someone gave me at an amway convention years ago. I don't think legislators really understand how the adult biz works with the sponsors and affiliate relationships: and they really don't care... Whatever is politically expedient for the day and their own self serving interests. They don't care if the regs pass or not, as long as they can say they tried and can apease someone in the meantime. 1. Note that I consider the proposal too outrageous to be passed as-is. Why? Because it claims to have trivial or no impact, and it states its *intent* to be non-impacting. Given the below, this is clearly not true. 2. We webmasters are suddenly explicitly declared as having to meet the recordkeeping and labeling requirements. This was a gray area and not unexpected.... but would make a major difference to we webmasters. 3. The recordkeeper would now have to know every location (which I take to mean every domain, not every single url) of every picture for which they're keeping records. I interpret that to *potentially* mean every sponsor banner, free content, everything - track *and record* where it is. Add (2) and (3) together, and that also means you have a means of knowing where your competitor is displaying the same content you're using. 4. Every webmaster would have access to the real names and addresses of the models being portrayed. Stalkers can now shop for their victims online, evaluating their suitability frame by frame. 5. Every content producer would now have to expose his private list of models used. Producer A could buy a photoset from producer B, and now know how/where to contact that model him/herself. I personally see those implications as so ridiculously catastrophic, that it won't fly. But, those *are* the implications I read into to the proposal as written. Go through it line by line, play the game of (A implies B, and B implies C, therefore A implies C as well) and you can read the above into the proposal. Like I said, though - the sky is seriously unlikely to be falling. It's a proposal put forth for political reasons (which in itself is scary but telling); and the implications of unfair trade practices and model safety, *should* be showstoppers. About your friends, I am 47 yrs old and in my thirtys I would have never dreamed (no pun )that my sleep situation would cause my heart and body to go to pieces. But here I am barely living proof of what can happen to you after years of bad sleep. I truly hope that they can get a handle on it for there own sake. The study of this and the testing have come a long way, I am told that 5 years ago when I took a turn for the worse (it just hit me no signs) even the Mayo Clinic, which I went to, weren't able to point to this as the cause of the Prinzmetal. As for my friends one I really hold no hope for. Mid 30`s no health insurance never worked more than 6 months in his life and no family to be after him. Very unmotivated by apnea but also upbringing lack of education and such. But I keep trying to be a good voice for him. The other may yet come around but he`s very comfortable being lathargic after so many years. I`m sure you know how it can become a part of you. We get used to the way we all are after a while and sometimes to the extent that we can`t imagine change. Habits die hard no matter what they are situation or substance! I can't blame your friends for being a bit skeptical. I had one test done and of course they all went crazy after seeing what I do at nite. I even had a company rep from the company for the machines call and started telling me all the benefits I would see from this thing and how bad off I was and that death might be in the picture and on and on. I too just kept saying 'yea I've heard all this stuff before about certain drugs or maybe surgerys". I just wasn't buying it until I found an article that named the exact chemical I am lacking in my blood, saying that is one that you loose with apnea. Well thats all the brow beating I needed, I have looked for 5 years for a way to increase this chemical in my blood(never could understand how you could loose a chemical from the body like that, I do now). After much research I have found many many things that can go wrong with ones body with out good sleep and death is on the list. I hope for your friends sake that they start paying attention to this problem, like I said my body is a prime example of the after affects of long term sleep apnea and it is not a pretty sight. yep knight..went thru the sleep studies and everything..scared them so much during it, they put me on a c pap machine half way thru it.. the first few nights on cpap were terrible..woke up with bloddy noses, ect..from all the air drying it up..but quickly after that and about a weekly later got use to it and it started making a big differnce then...i still rarely sleep more than 6 hours at a time..but it's a much deeper sleep...and no nodding off furing the day :) thanks troy,.. well troy there are ads that talk when the page loads...did great for making sales for all of two days..then surfers who were surfing in private, at home or at work..etc..would hit them and it would be loud and everyone would know they were looking at porn..got irritating..and they complained in mass to the link lists and tgps..so they banned them at about all of them... many were flash based as well.. but i have an alternate way of doing it..in the project called Talkies.. :) Downloading email right now Wenchy :) Message # 140222 148.78.245.12 Fri Jul 23 07:25:40 2004 |
