On Going SE Optimization

Over time and hard work you get a number of pages in the serach engines. Some tend to bare more fruit than others. These of course are the ones you study the most. The ones you look at how the page is done, what terms it's being found under and try to repeat it, often.

We all have these pages that do better than others, and many times people are afriad to mess or change them in any manner. There is some wisdom to that, to be for sure. But with the search engines keeping track up when pages are last updated, it can also be helpful from time to time to go back thru them and at least clear out the dead wood.

Dead wood can come in many forms. It includes items such as counters, recips that no longer link back to you, errors on code, graphics that are huge when smaller lighter ones would help you sell better for less cost, lack of image alt tags, and last but not least, sponsors that are mistargeted or not converting the highly prized search engine traffic.

Go to your domain, find the top ten most searched for and found by the search engine traffic pages. Make note of what terms they are being found under. Get rid of the dead wood by replacing it with keyword and phrase rich items in their places. Make sure you don't replace anyone still linked to you or break any rules of anyone linking to you when you do this.

One trick you can do to add in even more keywords is name your images after the keywords and terms you are being found under. Another trick is to tighten up the title and meta descrition tags to reflect the keywords and phrases more exactly to what you are getting the search engine traffic for.

By doing this for the top ten pages on each domain, you also are training yourself for your future building. This will make you a better page optimizer and you should find yourself getting more of those coveted search engine listings and the traffic that follows. And never forget to keep up with your traffic patterns, it's in these that you will really find out what is going on with the search engines as they relate directly to you and how you build. Much better than following any half baked suggestions, misleads, and fantasy you will find at so called dedicated search engine places, by 100 fold better and direct info you can understand and use to increase your bottom line.

As always, enjoy and profit!
