ARS Makes Move to Three-Day $1 Trial

Las Vegas – (Dec. 9, 2003)

Advertising Revenue Service (ARS), a premier pay-for-performance affiliate marketing company, today announced that effective Dec. 15 three-day free trials will cost $1.

“We had addressed the possibilities of charging for free trials several months ago,” said John Valigorsky, vice president of marketing and customer relations. “We worked hard to keep the free-trial product for our webmasters, but due to its high fraud and chargeback rates, it’s of utmost importance that we make this adjustment.”

Becky DeForest, ARS’ CEO, said, “Processing companies are looking closely at free trials because, in addition to fraud and chargebacks, there are no transaction processing costs. By blocking many more free trials, these processors are negatively impacting revenue for both the Publisher and ARS. By moving to $1 paid trials, we expect webmaster traffic to convert much better and produce a greater volume of sign-ups.”

In support of the change from free trials to paid, ARS is offering webmasters a 10 percent bonus from Dec. 15th to Dec. 21st on all three-day, $1 trial referrals.

“The move to $1 trials is of extreme importance to the future success of our industry,” Valigorsky said. “In appreciation for making this conscientious transition, we felt obligated to rewarding our webmasters with a ten percent bonus.”
