Where's All the Traffic?

There is going to be a lot of frustration when you begin chasing traffic and that's what you will be doing is chasing it. I started out with 0 traffic. The only place I could go is up :) There was never a doubt in my mind that I could generate traffic there shouldn't be one in yours either. I personally thrive off doubt. You just gotta believe in your capabilities.

How I started my traffic generation. I signed up with 10 toplists. Apparently 3 is a magic number for VNWR so I went with the flow. With the list break function I created breaks in multiples of 3,6,9 etc. Each of the the breaks contained my toplist codes. I created some very raunchy text links to entice clicks. You have a 33% chance of someone clicking a link out to a toplist. Send some hits into a toplist and get some return traffic to the main page. I was using Awstats at the time and it gave me the informational feedback I needed to see if my plan was being productive toplists were working. Freak and Wingnut each sent me some code for their FREE trade scripts, I was starting to generate something... anything was better than zero. I was getting frustrated as hell.

A Little Something For Everyone

I made a lot of galleries with *under* exposed sponsor content promoting their sites but also promoting mine. I was reviewing for Thumbfreak so I saw what sponsors everyone was using. I tried to use sponsors that were not prominent in all the other TGP listings.This took some time but I started to see sales, and more hits to my main page. My recip, a toplist code, and the tgp I was submitting to were on my page, a sponsor banner and a very enticing textlink, linking out to my main page. I submitted to anyone that would accept my galleries. I used Adulthit Kit and EZ4U for the No Recip gallery submissions which made the task easier to do. The recip galleries I did with SSI. Check out the tutorial section for TGPing with SSI. I also introduced another tool the GASS submitter which takes the pain out of setting up the include files, you decide.. All of the above brought hits to my main page an increase in traffic. if you can generate in increase in hits to your main page manually its time to consider a trade script if you are going to take the next step in owning a TGP. Without out one you will never grow.
