Outside The Box

Stare into the light and you will be blinded, Use it to illuminate the path and you will have eternal vision.
At the same time, we look into the box to enable us to think outside it.
To quote the Tao Te Ching can give some understanding of embracing the concept of thinking outside the box.
We shape clay into a pot but its emptiness is what makes it usable.
A house is made of solid materials, but it is the space inside that makes it livable.
We surround ourselves with resources and information. By being open to them, we realize their value and thus derive benefit. We bring them out of the box and take them unto our own. They are a gift, our utilization shows appreciation. By giving appreciation you affirm you are receptive to more gifts. When you achieve appreciation you are then able to give gifts of yourself.
In order for two beings to become one they must first let the winds of individuality flow freely between them. (A loose interpretation of Gebo from "The Book of Runes")
