My Newbie
Two Cents Worth

Well, the grouch project is over, and everyone had fun with it. Of course along with the fun was a good learning experience, which in turn gave me insight on running my business. I found when I did this project I picked up a lot of “little” things that I hadn’t been aware of, and tried and completed a few things I had been putting off. Part of the project was to submit to a required number of SE and LL. I was under the required amount of SE and the first thing I did was search for more. This was one of those things that was on my “to do” list. I’m happy to say that I can now scratch that item off my list, and I wound up with 3 more than required. By adding those SE to the list, gives the opportunity to reach more surfers and hopefully more sales.
Getting the SE was the easy part, now it was time to build. It took a little of time to get an idea. Once I started I really had a good time with it, but it was taking me days...and it was getting closer to the deadline. I think it was Sarrettah that said “nothing like a community project to get you motivated”, I couldn’t agree more.

I looked forward to see the progress everyone made each day, as well as my own. :) As part of the project others were relying on me to do my part, so there was no putting anything off! When the day came to show our work, I was a little nervous...but it quickly passed. It really was a lot of fun that day. You could feel the excitement on the board. The project turned out awesome. It was interesting to see the different approaches, styles and techniques to the project. And as I wandered through each site, I picked up little tidbits of info. And of course, all the jokes and ribbing on the board just added to it all. I’m glad I decided to participate and I would join in a community project again. This week’s NPOW is another community project. So to all you newbies (and Veteran alike) If you hesitated on the last week’s NPOW, don’t on this one. And for all the “Nervous Newbies” out there - remember the N in NPOW stands for NEWBIE!
