Wednesday, Nov. 20th:
Old Tom asks for a reminder to explain how to use 'strings' to explain the unexplained. "The Grouch Project" continues to be a hot topic and posters comment on Voltar's "hub." Cleo comes in search of "propeller head speak" and secretary niche sponsors. Mr.Boo would like some ideas about advertising in adult magazines. The possibility of adding a search function and other ways to improve the board are discussed. Amber438 is in danger of her head exploding and opts to take on the newbie hub project rather than something a bit more advanced. Wenchy, inspired by the Grouch project, attempts to become "some sort of warped Dr. S*uss." PornMeister explains how to separate emails which come in from different email accounts in Outlook Express. Wingnut urges posters to fill out their DFN interviews. Jojasa receives many warm wishes after announcing that she is celebrating her 31st Wedding Anniversary. Steve is awarded the prize for pink post #70,000, even though Old Tom really got it. Voltar encourages tech talk on the boards and would like Merlin to consider leading a technical discussion Thursdays. Pasta's feeling a little "vaclempt" and posters reminisce about their favorite SNL characters.

Thursday, Nov. 21th:
Voltar lets Krox know that he should email Wingnut@vnwr.com to submit articles to the DFN. Merlin's tech tip for the day is "back up your sites." Sarettah finds out that not all sites will accept an FPA between an entrance and main page. Ironhorse would like some feedback on his new design. Jimmer is looking for cheerleader content. Headless announces there will be site reviews on today's MaxCashLive. MrYum has made his first completely hand coded site and is now looking for an "HTML validator." Amber438 is back after a brief bought with "ftpus interruptus." The propellerheads discuss "-r and -f options for 'rm'." Doghousedan drops by with some advice for LadyB and would like anyone who has $50,000 to spare before Christmas to send it his way. Merlin posts the link for M3 system/network alerts. Massman gets some more .htaccess help.

Friday, Nov. 22th:
Voltar is still receiving pages for "TheGrouch" project. Steve is concerned with the downtime at M3 conflicting with a major link list's bot. Cherry asks how much bandwidth posting multiple banners or having them hotlinked burns. She gets some good explanation and is referred to the "Repeaters" Newbie Project. Amber gets her third sale and is congratulated. Cleo recommends "the three Gs, get up, get away, get out" to "get your blood flowing and refresh the mind." Exlectixxx reminds those hosting with M3 that the scheduled downtime will be worth it if they want fast loading domains. Dantheman assures Cleo and others that he will be speaking to the green link list owner as well as others about the fact that their servers will be down for a short period. Sarettah comments that a good link checking script should recheck 404ed pages before they blacklist someone. Va2k wants to know how to keep his exit console from popping when the surfer hits back or refresh. LadyB gently guides Donald the right direction. Sarettah shares some interesting tales that illustrate the conversation on the board. Mr.Boo ends up spending $800 to upgrade his PC. Cleo says "you can never be too thin, too rich, or have too much traffic." Massman learns that when "ftping" he should use binary for images and zips and ASCII for text, HTML, CGI scripts, htaccess files, etc. He also asks if it really matters if he uses .htm or .html. Alan is disappointed when he shows up ready for Bingo and discovers that its been rescheduled. Marie gives Fetish Brokers a little plug. Voltar offers posters a form letter that they can send to explain their server down time to traffic partners. Tom lets Marie know he forgot what he was designing for her. Merlin recommends Cleo's console tutorial that is in the Newbie Start Guide. Voltar pulls a couple pissy posts. Va2k finds a new home at VNWR.

Saturday, Nov. 23th:
Posters define "hotlinking" for Donald. Voltar updates the hub for "the Grouch project," and everyone is very pleased with the outcome. MrYum recommends "hotlinking.com." Voltar gets passionate about spam. Barron provides MrYum with some meta tags he should include in his documents. Posters coin the term X-Man. Bingo begins. Jazz wonders if Search Engines view doorways as spam. Marie gets a lot of humorous advice on dealing with the vigilante bridge biddies that live next to her. Voltar announces that Monday's NPOW will be a play on the gift exchange theme. More information on making mirror pages is shared. Many more revealing and informative posts are made before Natasha wins BINGO an $50 in M3 Server Bucks. Cleo shares an article about a fellow who burned his penis with his laptop as well as a pic of herself "nekkid."

Sunday, Nov. 24th:
Mitzy reveals that Bond movies put her in the mood to write porn. Posters share their Grouch projects. Link trade Sunday begins and Natasha continues her lucky streak by getting the number one spot. Cleo gives some advice on using mouseovers correctly. Macs are discussed. Jazz asks if he should avoid references to "barely legal" on his pages. Massman gets some help with SSI. RMS is welcomed to the board. Magus would like a script that allows several surfers to hear one someone via a PC microphone. Wingnut reminds posters to fill out their DFN interviews. ChristyB's sponsor banners do not show in Netscape and she finds out it has to do with spaces in her URL. Lisa comments that with AOL switching Netscape it will be more important to be sure sites work in their browser. Voltar shares some interesting search terms he found in the SE log. Old Tom posts three references for URL encoding. Link Trade Sunday ends with 30 sites listed and moved to the resource section.

Monday, Nov. 25th:
Cleo continues to discuss reasons she declines sites from her link list. Sarettah gets his first rejection. Posters are busy building and submitting but stop in to say hi. Sarettah and Alan race toward "the pink." Alan is victorious gaining the 71,000th post and being entered into the drawing which Voltar explains further. Posters offer congratulations. Dep7777 got two sales the past weekend and attributes it all to VNWR. MrYum asks if link lists are using bots to look for changes in HTML or just to verify that reciprocal links are up. Sarettah's oldest daughter turns 21. Voltar posts the Newbie Project of the Week. Old Tom announces that he won something at the Max Cash Live show.

Tuesday, Nov. 26th:
Voltar tells everyone that if they received a blank WFA announcement to just delete it. Posters are excited about the "Gift Exchange NPOW." Amber gets some feedback on her site. Nickname drops by and says hi. Jimmer asks what happened to Tara. Sarettah is having some problems getting his email at work while they switch over to a T1 line. Spiders Birthday is the 28th. Magus lets MrYum know that Northernlights shut down their submissions a while ago. Posters discuss "naked Boingo" and the weather as well as giving some helpful page reviews. Bailey celebrates her first sale and receives many congratulations. Bingo begins and Voltar posts the rules. Many posters show up to play. Conversation includes topics of link lists, snow, TGP traffic, spam, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CGI, counters, DSL, headcheese and M3 Servers. Alan gets Bingo but is ineligible to win. Natasha officially wins Bingo and a Xmas set of content "Xmas with Bille" from Greg Gregory.
