Normally page 4 of the DFN Weekly is filled with a helpful newbie tutorial. You, our readers, created those tutorials. Based on an awesome NPOW that LadyB assigned last year while Voltar was in Las Vegas. Each and every one of them have helped many newbie, oldbie, and middlebies, not to mention the folks who have yet to find the way to VNWR.
Why do I mention this and why is there not a tutorial for this week? Well, it's that time of year here in the States ... Thanksgiving. A time to give thanks for all that you have and to thank those that are there for you, day in and day out. So before I get to involved with the rest of my "ramblings", let me say a heartfelt "thank you" goes out to all those folks that contributed to the tutorial section of the DFN. Some of those folks have wandered off into cyber bliss, but most are still here contributing as a proud members of this community we call VNWR.
With that said I would like to spend some time to give thanks to other folks and things that I am thankful for (I'm sure many of you are as well). Starting with our regular contributors to the DFN Weekly, Widearea and Pastaboy, without your weekly columns our job of creating the DFN Weekly would become a much more difficult task. Thanks for coming through week after week, your articles keep our mind juices flowing and anxiously awaiting the next issues column.
How could we forget to say "thanks" to the fine folks who have graced the front page of the DFN Weekly? I don't think we could even come close to forgetting those great pieces! Do you remember Voltar's explanation of "DFN", or Colin's explanation of TGP2? How about Old Tom's "Why are you here?", or MorganaX's article ... or Magus's article ... The list just goes on and on.
I would certainly be a fool if I did not take this opportunity to thank the staff of VNWR for having confidence and trust in me to perform the honored duties of working on the DFN Weekly.
Voltar, "the man with the vision of tomorrow and the drive to make it happen today, your dedication to the future of this business astounds me", Thank You!
Old Tom, "the man who drops just enough of solution, that forces you to seek out and find the entire solution, in other words, he makes me think", Thank You!
