Two Cents Worth

XXX Pornsites

This week officially started the X-mas exchange NPOW. Last year’s x-mas exchange NPOW was the first community project I participated in and I truly believe it was the turning point in business career and the jump start I needed to get on track. I was a brand new newbie - I had only started to learn html and I had found VNWR about four months prior - I didn’t even have a community tag, when I saw last years post for the X-mas exchange NPOW.

At first I didn’t even consider it - I‘m too much of a newbie - or so I thought, but there was a lot of excitement about it. It was about this time I was starting to think seriously about where I was going with “all of this”. I was just beginning to understand this is a business and that I needed to make some decisions. I knew that if I decided to continue, I would have to participate. I remember being so nervous - I waited until almost the last minute to send my email. I knew this was a commitment, it’s a group project and my part is important. I had all the newbie fears. What if its not good enough? What if I can’t do it? What if my exchange pal doesn’t like it? I remember my heart was pounding , and before I knew it the email was sent. - It was one of the best business decisions I’ve made - but didn’t know it at the time.

The niche I chose for that NPOW was very new to me. I had just been “introduced” to it, so I thought it was be a good one to use. I really didn’t know how to approach it and I thought using it in the project would be a good way to see how others approached it. It was a good way to look at it - but I had to laugh when I had to build a site for a niche that I was even less familiar with. I don’t know why, but I just assumed the site I was going to build was going to be in a common niche - something I was comfortable with. Well - as my grandma used to say “In for a penny, in for a pound” I had some work ahead of me. The sponsor I would be using was not one I was signed up with (quite frankly I didn’t even know it existed)and at this point I had been promoting maybe 3 sponsors and I was reluctant to sign up with any others. (newbie thing there - I felt I couldn’t manage any more than that! lol) Voltar encouraged me to sign up with them, which I attempted to do, but they were updating the site and it took thee days before I could finally get a look at the site, banners and all. I remember feeling I was already three days behind! But it all worked out and I had plenty of time to finish without rushing, and I found a new sponsor. I learned a lot from that project, some of it from the onset, and some throughout the year.

If your serious about building an adult business, I would strongly recommend participating in a community project. You don’t need a community tag to participate, but you do need to make a committment., to yourself, to your business and yes to the community project. Face your fears. You will be able to do it. It’s building a free site or gallery, you need to follow a few simple rules and use your imagination. Develop your style - have fun with it. When I look at the site I did last year - there are things I would have done differently - but that’s because my style matured, not because it was right or wrong. Part of building your business is building your confidence. I think my biggest fear was will my exchange pal like it? Look at it this way - Of course we want our exchange pal to like our gift - but what’s more important is that the surfers out there like it enough to whip out their credit card and make money for your exchange pal. I don’t like a lot of what I see - whether it a color scheme or style - but it appealed to the person that built it and it’s sure to appeal others as well. I truly believe everyone that participated last year genuinely enjoyed their gifts and appreciated the effort that was put into them.

I’ve already signed up for this year’s gift exchange. I try new and different things on my sites, change colors, move things around and all, but I still feel my style is apparent on every site. That’s not a bad thing, I’ve been making sales, but I think the gift exchange is an easy way to add variety to my budding empire and perhaps grab the attention of the surfers who have bypassed my approach.

If you haven’t signed up for this NPOW, there are still a few days left. If you’re still lurking - This is a really fun project and a way to get to know the really great folks here at VNWR. It’s also an opportunity to expand or start your business. Use it as a way to break the ice and say hello, even if you don’t participate this year.

Just my 2 cents...
