Do Not Pass Go

The first question when starting in this business is "Where do I start".

The really great people on the VNWR board point you in the direction of the upper left hand corner. The newbie quick start guide and the newbie tutorials. When you arrive here you now have about 40 or so different tutorials to choose from. Just so you know they are ALL important, and everyone takes their steps differently. But which one first?!!

Difficult answer; I would say learning HTML is step number one, but in order to learn step #1, you really need to know step #2. Step #2 is building a site and you need step #3 in order to complete step #2. Step#3 is learning to compress images and put them into galleries...well on it goes.

It's really not that complicated but there is a lot to learn. So as you head to the upper left corner start with NEWBIE QUICK START GUIDE click on Voltar's Past Newbie Projects.

1. Work smarter not harder NPOW
2. Basic Free Sites
3. learn raw HTML
4. your domain infrastructure

5. Basic HTML
6. Compress your images
7. How to use super JPG
8. Basic Consoles
9. Meta Tags
10. Making FPA
11. Making galleries from templates
12. Search Engine Basics

After going through the tutorials you will have an understanding of how to build your first site. Again, it's not complicated, but it is WORK. I'd like to repeat something that has been said over and over on the VNWR "this is a business and you have to build it and grow with it." You not only have to build it, you have to understand it.

I used this visual to help me put some things into focus... Free sites, avs, tgp are the flyers I sent to my customers to buy my product"sponsor" and (if they haven't bought anything yet)I entice them to visit my store "hub". If after showing them all my merchandise "sponsors" they don't find anything, I lead them to my mall with lots more little specialty shops "filters" and so on.

But remember, if you get these people "surfers" to your store "hub" you'd better be ready for business. Once you've got the free site building under your belt it's time to do the NPOW Hub basics, and from there you move on to anyone of the NPOWs that interest you. You've started the learn, build, submit, repeat process.

Just my newbie two cents worth.
