WOW, this week flew by. Every once in awhile there’s a week or so that just begins and ends and doesn’t seem to have a middle. LOL

I had a lot of “away from the computer” stuff this week, and the cable and telephone Co.‘s are “upgrading service in the neighborhood“, so any connection I could get was not very reliable. I didn’t have much time to work this week as it was, so I decided to work only on the current NPOW project when I could and just stay offline for the few days the crews were working. I had the lay out of the project in mind and started it but still had quite a bit of work.

I’m really enjoying this project and it’s interesting to see the different ideas everyone had to create their town, and what they needed to learn to create them. There were hand drawn maps that involved image slicing to more basic nesting tables to form streets etc. This is a really unique and fun project. I’ve learned first hand how new and unique pages can catch a surfers eye.

A few weeks back during a bingo game Voltar came up with a top 10 project(in rhyme). I wasn’t able to make bingo that night, but read about it as I went through the bingo posts the next morning.(always go through the bingo posts-there’s always some info or project you won’t want to miss) It was a quick, fun project so I did it. I added a link for the page and had two sales from it shortly after adding it. It’s not that I’m surprised, first because it was a Voltar project and I believe(or hope anyway) that everything we build should bring a sale - but I was surprised at how quickly the two sales came. I don’t recall getting a sale on a page in such a short time much less two.

It was definitely one of the fastest projects I’ve done and paid off the quickest too. I know some of the folks here at VNWR have done variations of this project that were interesting and I have a few ideas of my own and as soon as I finish the current NPOW - I’m going to work on them.

As much fun as I had with that project though, I think my favorite is the current NPOW town project. I find it challenging but fun, and like the top 10 project it is unique. There is a lot of flexibility and that’s what makes it so much fun. Mine is very basic, which is my skill level but as I go along, I’ve added ideas and fine tuned others and In the little time I was able to work on it, it’s really coming together. I think it will do very well. I’ll have more time this week to work on it and I’m looking forward to getting in to it and getting it finished.

I may not have been able to put much time into my work this week, but the time I did put in I made count. IMHO, having a few unique pages, such as the npow projects, in your Empire is time well spent.
