Goal Setting

Goal setting can bring about magical results if it has been done properly!

What is Goal-Setting?

It is a simple method of writing down exactly what you want to achieve, reading it out loud at intervals, and visualizing the goal coming true.

WRITING DOWN, READING OUT LOUD AND VISUALIZING YOUR GOALS ARE ESSENTIAL IF THE METHOD IS TO WORK!

Writing your goals!

When writing your goals down, wording is all-important. When writing down your goals, have a think about what you really want. Let's say you want a brand new Porsche. Never write down I want a brand new Porsche! Try writing the goal down as, by Sunday 30th of December 2002, I will own a Red Porsche 911 with leather seats and electric windows. This also comes in handy when you use the visualization technique.

Spend some time if you try this method at first, thinking of some small goals, like fixing a shelf, cleaning out the garage or any small things that have been at the back of your mind. This way when you've achieved your small goals, you will get more belief in the method and use it to go on to write down bigger goals.

Pick a place where you can get some peace and quiet, a place where you can relax. Take out a piece of quality cardboard paper and using a good quality pen, write down your goals! Now also get a quality sheet of A4 paper and write down the following: -
On Saturday 1st of December I will get up at 6 a.m. to Read, Say out load and Visualize my goals. Or choose any day you wish to begin your goal setting.

Pick 2 times in the day where you can get some peace and quiet! These 2 times will be appointed by you to do your Goal Setting. Say 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., try and stick to these times!

Visualizing your goals!

Stand, and with your arm extended (as though you were pointing at something in front of you) inscribe in a Large Capital 'G' in front of you in the air. Visualize this 'G' hanging in the air. The 'G' you have just drawn in front of you, mean's 'Goals' and serves to alert you what you are about to do. For personal improvement goals, write the goal as though it were actually happening. For all other goals, describe the goal exactly, and set a deadline by which the goal will be fulfilled.

Saying out load your goals!

Sit quietly and relax for about one minute. Clear your mind and relax until you think of nothing. Imagine the 'G' still there that you inscribe earlier, now take out your goal card, read out LOUD (if possible), otherwise whisper it under your breath!

IMAGINE your goals becoming true, if it's a Porsche you wish to own, then imagine yourself driving the Porsche, imagine the Porsche sitting in your drive way and you holding the keys!

Once you've done this for the goals you want to achieve, un-inscribe the 'G' you inscribed earlier in the reverse manner, this tells you that you have finished the exercise of goal setting.

That's it, all you have to do is repeat twice a day, at your chosen times, and at your chosen place!

I hope this helps
