Lightbulbs

By

Bailey

Wow! this week went fast. I guess that’s because I’ve been so busy. I feel as if I had another turning point in my career as a webmistress. This week several more light bulbs went on in my head and what a rush that was! lol

I took some quiet time this week, sat down away from the computer, with a notepad and outlined my plans for the month. Although I’ve always scribbled a list of things to do, this time I made an extended outline of what I was going to achieve this week, next week and set goals for the month. I planned how I was going reach my goals, I prioritize the list and even gave myself time limits and deadlines. I planned for the week and then broke it into days. The goals I set seemed reasonable and I now had a very clear and organized agenda, so I put my “nose to the grindstone” and got to work.

It was while working in my new organized world when things started falling in place. It seems that I can go for days or even weeks without so much as a tiny glimmer of understanding, and then day after day light bulbs keep going on. I feel I’ve taken another step up. I mumbled many times this week “ OH! so that’s what that is!!” or “I’ve always wondered why it’s done that way!” I have a better understanding of how and why I was doing certain things.

I’ve registered another domain name, and I’m buying content for the first time. (I usually supply my own content). I’ve organized my hub to work more efficiently. I made several FPA‘s, put some ideas together for future sites, and started to network with other webmasters. I’m pleased with how the week went, however I realize I will need to continue to make adjustments in time management, and priorities, which is part of being a newbie.

Of course the weeks are not always this good, but I take the good with the bad and so far the good outweighs the bad. I’m really enjoying my work, and I especially all the people I’m meeting along the way. Not only have they been helpful and supportive, I’ve had many laughs along the way. I hope the weeks continue like this for a really long time.
