So many times I see lame site names out there, patterned after the sponsor that the webmaster is promoting. Lame to the nth degree is what those are. You can do better than that, even if you don't realize it yet. After reading this article I hope to help you to realize it, and why you should be a little more creative in your site names.
When you decide on a site name, it most commonly involves the niche involved. This is alright, especially in light of search engines and such. But it's not only the search engines you have to worry about. It's making the sale that should be the on the top rung of your thoughts and site crafting. After all that is why we make every web page on the net. It's all about business, good business, that we work.
In your site names you have your very first shot at making a connection with the surfer. We all know if you connect with the surfer on some level, you bring yourself much closer to making the sale. At this level, the initial contact level, you can spark thier imagination and get thier fantaisies rolling, thier humor up, and thier association between them and your sites sponsor links pumping like crazy. This is what can commonly make a site profitable or not.
To do such a thing there are many ways, but one often over looked and which can be used very easily is word play. Playing on words to get that connection between your site and the surfers mind solid and tangible. By word play I mean take a normal under used word and make it mean something else. Look at the example below and try it yourself with all kinds of adult(not kid oriented) words and meanings. This can be sometimes funny, witty, inspiring, insiteful, and just plan outragous. But all of them bring an inner smile and connection between the surfer and the website of yours. You forge the bonds that allow the easier access, illusion weaving, and sales that follow those, to happen.
