Webmaster's Corner

Interview with Cindy

DFN: This week's interview is with Cindy.

Lets get the real basic stuff first...
Cindy My name is Cindy, I'm 25 and I live in the Arizona, USA.

DFN: How or why did you pick your nick?
Cindy It wasn't to difficult I just went with my name LOL ;)

DFN: How often do you try new building ideas, or using new sponsors?
Cindy I work more with webmasters on the support side, I don't have a lot of time to put into my own. But I always investigate new ideas. I tell webmasters though, you should always try a new project/idea once a month, even if it's an elaborate idea and don't think is going to work - try it you never know what will come out of it :) With large projects or ideas that you like incorporate them into your empire, don't stop what is making you money, keep doing what you know, that is your bread and butter :)

DFN: And how often do you build new sites?
CindyI review wewbmaster sites everyday, so I get new sites all the time. Along with the site reviews I do everyday, I do a lot of research on traffic and advertising and I learn from others as well.

DFN: How many hours a week are you able to put into your business?
Cindy As many hours as I possibly can. I do this full time, so I am usually sitting in front of my computer, unless I am at school or taking a brain break LOL

DFN: Do you do everything by hand? or do you use some scripts to automate your work?
Cindy I do some things by hand, with html I use an html editor , I can hear everyone now LOL. But if there is a problem with my code, I can look at the html and find the problem, I first learned html in notepad :) I use whatever I can to make things easier on me.

DFN: Do you have any tips for us on how you stay focused and organized working for yourself?
Cindy Tips on making keep yourself organized - don't we all the learn the hard way on this? This was a mistake I made a long time ago, now sometimes I am too organized LOL

I would have to say, the biggest thing, keeping everything separate from each other. Have a folder dedicated to working projects, back burner projects. And the biggest one is your sites - keeping everything in order just like you have on your server, this way you know where everything is on your hard drive and on your server. A log of where everything is, like for example your hub, you should have a layout of where everything is. I know it is a pain to do, but it pays off in the end.

One other big one is e-mail organization, have dedicated folders to certain projects in your e-mail client then you have everything you have talked about in that folder and you don't have to search for it.

DFN: Can you touch on how and why you got involved into this industry, and how long you have been doing it?
Cindy Why I got involved with this business - I needed a job when I was going to school and I saw an ad in the newspaper for supervisors, this was for a content company, they provided live feeds.

How I got involved with the business.... The company I was working for was a new company and we didn't do a lot of business so I started surfing around and found an adult board and started reading everything I could about marketing and traffic and I took what I learned from online and started marketing for the company.

I have been in this business for over five years, and with Maxcash for two years.

DFN: Can you give a brief background on your history in this business, and where do you see yourself in one year and several years from now?
CindyA background on me LOL I worked for an online content company for two years. I handled the marketing for the company, getting new clients to carry their feeds. I also built sites for them and I generated traffic for them.

Then I did some things on my own. Building sites, designing sites for friends and little things like that. And then I went to work for Weg Cash. I worked with Weg Cash for about a year. Great company to work for. And then I came to work for Maxcash, something I always wanted to do since I first met RB, Bob and Aly at the first show I went too, and as everyone knows, I am still working with Maxcash :)

Where do I see myself in a year... working with more webmasters, helping newbies get into the business and still being me LOL

Several years from now... I have no idea LOL

DFN: What area in terms of site building do you specialize in, if any?
Cindy I wouldn't say I specialize in any site building. I do a lot of research on all site building, if I don't know what it is about I will found out more. I will say this, I deal more with TGP, free sites and hub sites.

DFN: What do you consider to be your strengths in this business?
Cindy hmmmm that is a tough one LOL I would have to say patience. Another would have to be networking and research.

DFN: What do you consider your 3 best niches?
Cindy I have no idea, I deal with ALL ... LOL

DFN: What is the best advice you were given when you were first getting started in this industry and what advice could you give a newbie just starting out these days?
Cindy Best advice I got was, don't let people take advantage of you, I was young and didn't know better, so I let people walk all over me..... Best advice to newbie starting out these days I would have say is, this is not a get rich quick business.... and you need to invest time and money into your business to make your business grow.

DFN: What do you think the worst thing going on with future of our industry right now? ...and what is the best?
Cindy The worst I don't really have a comment on that, I like to keep some things to myself :)

The best I would have to say more people working together.

DFN: Any additional insight you would like to give on being an adult webmaster?
Cindy hmmmmm it is takes time and a lot of hard work, if you have determination and motivation you will go far :)

DFN: And finally... do you have a URL you want to plug?
Cindy Maxcash
