My Newbie
Two Cents Worth

My computer problems continued this week but as luck would have it, during a conversation with an aquaintance I found out that she is a computer techie and she offered to help troubleshoot my computer. We aren’t able to meet until next week so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that nothing breaks down between now and then. With the computer situation under control - I can focus on holiday building. I’m a few weeks behind on the Holiday projects, so I’m putting all my efforts into catching up.

If you’re still lurking - now is the time to get involved. Do what you can, so you can reap the benefits now and enjoy long term benefits too. It was little more than a year ago that I found VNWR and shortly after that I joined in on my first community project, and this month I’m seeing the “long term rewards”

I’ve had sales everyday for almost two weeks. Previous sales were generally scattered throughout the month and not nearly as many. I don’t know if sales on consecutive days means anything but it makes “aim for a sale a day” attainable. I can remember thinking I’d be happy with a sale a month - I couldn’t imagine a sale a day. It’s interesting to see it all come together. I even had a first sale this month from the very first sponsor I signed up with. But what I noticed about all of this was, many of the sales were from sites and holiday projects from last year. This month quieted some doubts I’ve been having. I’m thrilled with the sales (especially considering last year at this time I didn’t even know html) and thought about the past year. I’ve come a long way and I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished. It wasn’t always easy and many time I thought about giving it all up. I often thought; Will this work ever pay off? (Yes, the hard work will pay off.) Am I doing this right? (apparently I am) Should I continue? (Yes!)

I’ve enjoyed my first year in the Adult business, and I’m looking forward to many more. In the beginning I was going to start a paysite in my spare time and make lots of money. After landing here at VNWR and getting a dose of honest reality, I put the idea of a paysite on the back burner, and started to learn how to make money.

The first npows I did were to help get organized. Sometimes you don’t realize the benefits to the npows until well after you’ve completed them. When everything is organized, it makes building faster and finding information easier. With a base from the npow under my belt, I’m more organized now and as I learn something new, I tweak and add to suit my needs. The next npows I did were all about building.

On many of my first sites, I focused on how pretty the site was and did I do this right or should I do it this way. I quickly learned that a site being pretty is not as important as being in control of where we want our “visitors” to go. But even more important than that, is to build, submit repeat. Getting involved in a VNWR community project, and doing a couple of npows helped give me the push I needed. I was very nervous about making a commitment to a community project, but it was one of the best investments I made. If you’re serious about getting into this business - get involved in npows and community projects, they will take you a very long way. As to whether I was “doing it right” or “should I do this” - well, I still think about that, and I must have done something right because I made some sales, and I’m definately going to repeat whatever I did. It was a lot of work, (and still is) and looking at the sales this month - It’s satisfying to know the hard work did (and hopefully will continue) to pay off.

What you do today will affect what you have a year from now. If you do nothing - you’ll have nothing. If you haven’t already, start by making your first post at VNWR. Get going, get involved and make a commitment today. A year from now you could be well on your way to building an empire and have a few more $$$ in your pocket.

It’s always something....

Just my 2 cents.
