By the time you read this, I'll have had what i consider a major operation and hope to be recovering well at this point. But that being said, i will have to limit my time up out of bed as I heal. I thought I'd share how I plan to keep my empire going strong during the week it'll take to recover from it. This I hope will allow you to help plan for your future time aways as well.

We all have times when we know ahead of time that we won't be able to spend as much time online as our normal daily routines take. In fact it may be as little as only 5 or 10 minutes a day online, depending on the nature of whats going on. Scipts and automation can help alot of course, but as you grow as a webmaster and get a few years under your belts you will learn to use these more and more. Aside from these you do a great amount of daily work on the net, if you are building your empire and not letting it sit and drop behind. This work is what you can pre prep and set up for you to get done with limited online time.

Build yourself a cache of galleries and sites. Have them up on the net, recip pages in place and saved to a special folder in your favorites of your browser. This will allow you to go directly to them, copy the url right fom the browser and then jump to the sites you are submitting to, drop the link and info and zoom on to the next one. Plan on at least a day or two more than you expect your limited time to be. Stuff happens so you need to be prepared for that extra day or two you will need in catching up after the time away. Having the work smarter not harder project done and in place will save you alot of time in doing this as well.

I firmly believe in the KISS principle (Keep It Simple Stupid). I highly recommend you use it during this cache phase. Build for only what you can submit quickly to, what gives you the best quality traffic, and what places you know will list your sites and galleries. TGP partner submits are good for this as well. You see, with only limted amounts of time online, the last thing you need is the stress and probmatic happens of getting a site rejected or told you need to make changes for some profit limiting rule. You simply don't/won't have time for all of that. So skip those that would cause you problems for your cached sites, you can go back to full submits afterwords.

So now you can pop in for 5 to 10 minutes, do your quick submits, then get offline. A half an hour or so later come back and load your email, do confrimations in another 5 minutes. Have a stock answer to send back anyone whos email you get that you want to go further into once you are back on your reg. schedule. And I mean have one you can copy and paste into all of them you want to have further contact with. One that says something like the following is fine. Example: " Just wanted to let you know i got your email and that I am away from my computer for a few days at this time, but i want to talk to/answer you more completely about your email message below, and will get back to you as soon as I am back." Having that ready to go ahead of time will also savve you tons of time, as well as being respectful to the people you do business with. This will keep you in the loop with them and let them know you arn't ignoring them. After all they took the time to write you in the first place.

I hope this helps many of you in the future and hope to see you all back up to full speed my self in a few days as well.
