Meltdown Madness

I’ve been more of a lurker rather than a participant on the board this month. Everyday there was information posted I needed to know. I followed every link, put every suggestion and tip in a folder for future reading, I followed the critiques of other newbie sites and I learned about several helpful programs. And then I had newbie meltdown! lol Thanks Voltar for the “it’s not as bad as you think” speech, and “all you need to do is this“ tip.

I’m back on my horse now, and I’m going thru my notes. As I started to go thru them, I realized just how much of what I had saved were just “casual mentions” on the board, from little time saving tips to SE algorithms to programs that are used. These “casual mentions” have saved me time already and certainly will in the future.

I found out about a program I never knew existed, and I dumped a program I had purchased when I first started(newbie mistake #100) in favor of one that is easier and faster to use. Some of the tips I picked up were sandwiched in between friendly banter, while others were in the course of conversation. Keeping up with the board is not only fun, it’s part of business.

Try new programs even if you already have one, and make a note of any that are recommended. Then listen carefully to the chatter on the board, you’ll be surprised how much you hear.

Just my newbie 2 cents worth
