a look back

Yea everyone it's been a year since the horrible cowardice attack on the USA happened. The events of that day are forever etched in our minds, hearts and souls. There is still an American flag on the VNWR board with the words "9/11/2001 God Bless America, We Remember!" around it. It shall stay there, and we shall always remember the events of that day that forever changed the world we live in. I'm very proud to be an American and for everything it stands for to be an American. Home of the free, land of the brave, hot dogs, apple pie, and the best porn on the planet!

In looking back on this last year I have seen many things that have happened. From personal tragedies in both my life and webmasters whom I am close with to an unending and growing bond of compassion, self sacrifice, and dedication from the American people at large. It's been an amazing and terrifying year for many of us. We will always look back on that time with a feeling of hate for those who dared defile us in such a manner. God bless our men and women in the armed services as they continue to carry out their mission to see this never happens to us again.

"Liberty means responsibility; that is why most dread it."
George Bernard Shaw

Now as strongly as this brings out emotions in myself and you, it's time to look back at how the internet industry has been effected. From hindsight we can gather foresight and build for a better tomorrow than we had today. So what happened on the net this past year? Directly afterwards all eyes and hearts were glued on news outlets and websites. Never before had so many people depended on or used online news sources as they did then. Stock markets dove to lows unimagined a day prior. People became afraid of travel and mass gatherings and online shopping and surfing accounted for record percentages of sales for many major companies. More people worked from home than ever before. Online communities became almost family, and family became online users.

Many other things happened of course, like doom sayers popping out of the woodwork for just about everything imaginable on the net. They have always been there and have always been wrong. The world continues and the net has grown to a larger place in daily life. As this next year rolls on by, we will always remember. Take your place as honest and decent webmasters and business persons in the adult webmaster field, and build for the future. Show the world that as adult webmasters it doesn't mean that you are low class like many who came before you, but you can be business men and women who will own and control a large piece of the net of today and tomorrow.

Today we mourn again, tomorrow we start building a bigger and better future for ourselves. See you on the board then!
