Building Webmaster Friendly Sites For Profit
By Sumrpal
There are two camps of thought present in the online porn industry, the "Surfer Friendly" and the "Webmaster Friendly".
In the "Surfer Friendly" camp, the lunatics are in charge of the asylum, so what happens is that they end up giving the store away for free. Unfortunately for the industry, most Thumbnail Gallery Posts (TGPs) and Link Lists (LLs), especially the older more established ones (ie: the ones with ownership of most of the traffic) belong to this camp. Because of surfer demands, they are requiring webmasters to submit galleries and free sites with ever-more free content, more restrictions on what can be included (ie: full page ads, consoles, blind links & etc) and fewer sales ads.
When you recognize in your own mind that this is a business, a BIG business, then you have to know that the "Webmaster Friendly" camp has to prevail in order for the industry to stay healthy. You must understand, however, that "Webmaster Friendly" does NOT mean using trickery, fraud or cheating! No, your reputation is your most valuable asset in this business and using those negative means to earn a quick buck will make you persona non grata very quickly.
So, what does "Webmaster Friendly" mean? It means being able to use all the tools available to you in order to make the sale, while giving away the least amount of free content possible. What is considered to be a standard "Webmaster Friendly" free site today would consist of four pages, index - main - gallery 1 - gallery 2, with a full page ad between the index and main pages, full-size pics on html pages and a single entrance or exit console.
This site would be considered VERY Webmaster Friendly ... in fact, most "normal" link lists would not list it: AMATEUR NIGHT
You will note that there are a lot of 'outbound links' (sponsor ads) and only 10 sample pics. Another example would be this one: BURNING DESIRE
These would be submitted to selected Webmaster Friendly link lists, 'spidered' search engines or linked off your own internal hub(s).
Here is an example of a generally Webmaster Friendly site that would be accepted at most Link Lists, except for the most extreme "Surfer Friendly" ones: WET 'N WILD
