Hypothetically, How long would it take you to gather all your webmaster info? Have you built yourself a personal desktop website? Do you have Domain Information, Sponsor information, passwords, gallery lists etc within a *2 clicks*. Think about it for more than 5 minutes. You need to get yourself together.

I have been involved with a little project for the past 4 months, an initial expense, some inspirational motivation and my time, and a ton of continuing research. A whole new way of thinking and whole new style to develop. Content Delivery to handheld devices, that's right. Its here embrace it, we are. I didn't want to double back, redo something a second and third time to organize stuff. We all have a lot of stuff as webmasters to keep organized, to make us profitable.

Spending lots of alpha hours testing, thinking, talking to myself and developing a style. Figuring out what works and what doesn't. I knew from the onset doing it right the first time methodically, walking away with nothing left but submissions and tweaking as needed was an easy goal to achieve. I say easy because I have made lots of mistakes and learned from them as a newbie. Setting up a new domain to build (there is an NPOW for organizing a new domain), a new mindset for compressing pics, banner selection, FPA's, galleries, site structure, directory structure, setting up scripts and selecting a few new ones.

I hope this will help some of those lacking organization to utilize my template, my idea to expand upon, utilizing in conjunction what is already available to you Smarter, Uni Sites, Yourself, to achieve organizational discipline through informational overload. We deal with lots of information no need for it to be helter skelter even though your brain is overloaded. :)

Once I had the chance to digest the scope of the project harvesting banners, working and uploading pics. I understood 75% what was entailed. I am sure the other 15% will play itself out over the next 6 months. I wrapped my arms around it grabbed my notes and fired up Excel to create a new workbook. If you use Excel you're ahead of the pace. If you don't, well you're missing out on a very powerful piece of software that you could really benefit from.

I needed a way to have all my information available in one location and readily available. I organized my information as follows. Content page, gallery pages, FPA's, sites and anything else associated to building on a particular domain.

What I am showing you here are the multiple pages contained within this particular workbook. Everything I need to remember where I am at any given time. Not having to double back because something was forgotten. A database is only as smart as the person entering the information =). The Key, You have to remain diligent keeping the information up to date.

The gallery sheets. Finally I can start playing around with my scripts :) The Gallery Maker made fast work building galleries to a given template. Pasta Bot harvested the domain for me. Cut and Paste the directory is documented. Once I had the routine down I was able to complete the exercise in a few hours.

Being able to utilize the tools you have in an organized fashion will save you so much valuable time. Time you can utilize to focus on other webmastering tasks. You will get to a point webmastering that you will have to utilize scripts or you will want to. The time the scripts will save, you loose because you didn't have your shit together. Money is Easy To make; you can never gain lost time back!
