Zoomers to Boomers

This is a look at how many of the non-newbie webmasters work. You may find yourself in amongst some of these. In fact as a good hardworking webmaster you will most likely find yourself in several of these.

If you find yourself identifying way to much with a single one, my advice is to try to work in a few of the others to round out your webmastering. You'll find you will benefit from the additional approach to our craft. But there are good and bad with each type, so try to use only the best from the ones you choose to try out.

Please note that none of these are describing actual people, but classes of webmasters and how they fall into a category.

As you grow as webmasters you will make partners, friends, trades and so forth. Look for some of the following traits below to help you decide in what ways you shape your future ventures.

*Boomers*: These are webmasters who sit down and boom out websites, galleries, and so on in large blocks in that single sitting. They commonly then do the following submits in a more random method as time allows. Caused by initial webmastering being as time permits around other things in their life such as a full time day job and family requirements. Very good with starting and completing new projects.

*Bangers*: These are webmasters who sit down and bang out websites, galleries, and so on in a singular manner, but with no set routine. Commonly they submit the sites built when they build them. A very sporadic builder and commonly are more active in other things in the webmaster world.

*Wangers*: These are webmasters who sit down and bang out websites, galleries, and so on in a half ass manner, and commonly do not finish what they have started. Prone to jumping around from project to project and rarely finish something in the manner in which it was started. These webmasters often think that no matter what they are doing, they could do it better and thus they end up getting very little done. Often these are your pissers and webmasters with unpleasant attitudes.

*Sleepers*: These are webmasters who sit down and get out websites, galleries, and so on in almost complete silence and very little imagination. They are not very active in the webmaster community and more often or not take an extremely long time to get projects, sites and such done. Will quite often obsess on small details and take hours instead of minutes on even the simple decisions. Keeping schedules and routines are nearly impossible for this type of webmaster. Making decisions and unique creativity is very much at a min. level.

You will often see these types of webmasters identifying with others success and trying to get in on it in some manner that isn't earned. At times you will sometimes see "Bangers" fall into this type of webmastering for short periods of time. This type of webmaster almost always has a hard time feeling they "belong". This type would feel all alone in a crowded room a large part of the time. Many veterans and old timers fall in this category.

*Dependers*: These are webmasters who sit down and do websites, galleries, and so on only after someone else has shown then exactly how to do them. Not normally ready to take tangents or think out side of the box themselves. This type of webmaster will often seek and require constant attention to very step of building that they do. It is not easy for this webmaster type to break their patterns. They do well in following routine daily submits and build routines, once an initial pattern is laid out for them. Good for working for a company, but not the top choice in doing R & D.

*Steady Eddies*: These are webmasters who sit down and knock out websites, galleries, and so on in a very steady and dependable fashion. They use new things and often dabble with a little R & D as they build. Not normally out of the box thinkers, but often at the outside edge of the box. Often successful at completing and following thru with normal projects and most times keep a few major ones in the works for any time they can jump on them and get them done. Routines often include very public appearances on a reg. basis. Can be counted out 9 times out of 10 to complete what they start and commit to. These types of webmasters make a decent amount of money because of their high complete ratio and being of the waves of new things gaining popularity and profits

*Zoomers*: Out of the box thinkers and creators. Always trying things outside the box and grabbing for that lucky star. These webmasters come out of the blue and rise to the top on a new ideal or format that they create or become the most efficient at in a field. Most are on the radar only briefly as they forget to keep doing the type of webmastering that got them zooming and stick with the single things that zoomed. Zoomers are often short lived and fall by the way side if they don't continue with their webmastering. A good type of webmastering when combined in small does with other types mentioned here.

Hope you enjoyed this candid look at traits and personality types in the webmastering world. There are of course many more but these cover the bulk of webmaster traits that you will see present on the net.
