My Newbie
Two Cents Worth

It’s vacation time and I had decided to take two weeks off. I was going to get away from the computer. My family and I had planned long weekend trips and we are also renovating the house. I didn’t bring my laptop when we traveled, but I couldn’t stay away completely at home. I managed to pop online a few times only for an hour or so, but I got quite a bit of work done.
I’ve been wanting to get into tgp2ing, but I was a little apprehensive. I researched tgp2 and paid close attention when it was discussed on the board, but I still hesitated. I had a great gallery design that would catch attention, but I had concerns about bandwith and filtering traffic. I was more concerned with filtering the traffic I was told to expect from tgping. Looking back, some of my concerns were rather silly, but concerning me nonetheless. I knew that most of the tgp surfers were more experienced and determined to get it all for free, and I had visions of them taking advantage of my tgping inexperience. I imagined that as they were set loose in my empire they would just gobbling up everything in their path. I know...it’s a little paranoid! Anyway, I had some ideas that I wanted to try but I just couldn’t seem to get it all in place, and I was getting frustrated. At this point, I just put it aside and worked on something else. I eventually got back to that project but before I did, I managed to put together about a half a dozen templates for tgp galleries. Although building templates and adding galleries is a good thing, I really wasn’t moving forward, I was still lagging on submits.
I applied some of the ideas I had and before I knew it, things were falling into place and I felt more confident about tgp and filtering traffic. I learn new things almost everyday, and when necessary, I’ll go back to add and/or make changes, but for now, at the basics were in place. And speaking of learn something new everyday, while setting up the new domains, I found a few more ways to use SSI to build and maintain my sites. Using SSI sure does make things fast and easy. It’s a cinch to set up on a new domain but a time consuming job to set it up on an existing domain, but well worth the effort.
