Four Weeks Away...

It's that time again... Internext Time. All you procrastinators who have thought about going but haven't yet made arrangements, Internext is just four weeks away.
Why?
Why go to Internext? The first answer that usually comes to mind is... cause it's a whole lot of fun! Yes, it is. Far be it from me to ever try to tell anyone that it's not a whole lot of fun. But that's not really why I'm there. The conventions are a great tool to use to get your business past the point of being a little thing you are doing in your spare time for extra cash, to becoming a real full time money making business.
Attending at least one Internext Expo a year is a must if you take your job seriously. Think about it, making any real money in our business takes more than building a few free sites. You need to network. You need to get known. You need to meet face to face with other webmasters and exchange ideas. You need to get known by the sponsors and big site owners so when you need to write to them, they already know you, and when they have an opportunity come up that can help someone... they know YOU.
The Expo is a chance not only to learn, but also to sell yourself and your business. Go to the parties, meet people, talk to everyone you can... and *listen*. Stay sober so you can remember whom you met and what they had to say.
You saw the posts on the board and the articles here from the people who went to WWV. You could literally feel the excitement in their words. Meeting face to face, exchanging ideas, getting to know people a bit, all help your business grow far more than just an exchange of messages on your computer.
It's not in the budget
My first convention wasn't in the budget either. But we went anyway. We drove instead of flying, we stayed at a cheap hotel, we cut all kinds of corners to be able to get there... and it was the best investment of time and money (we did not have) that we could have made. We made a leap in income after that convention, a leap that we wouldn't have made that soon if we had not gone.
