What is a Network?

The term 'Network' has come to mean many things to many people.
Most commonly the term means a group of entities that interact to provide efficient utilization of resources.
Think about that. Your computer may be networked with others to provide file and resource sharing (such as printers). For that matter, the Internet is an International Network. We share files and resources.
When we apply the term to humans, it gets a bit fuzzy. We don't' share 'files' per se, but we DO share resources. My skills are available to those with whom I network.
In the construction business, a carpenter knows a plumber, who knows an electrician, who knows a roofer, who knows a concrete finisher, who knows an architect, who knows where that all ends, but you get the idea. That network can easily construct a finished project that none of the individuals had the skills to do alone.
Think about that as it applies to our business. Who do you know that has skills that you do not possess? How are you getting your skills out and available to others? What can we do to improve our 'Networking'?
