The Proof is in the Pudding
My Meeting with Voltar

Early on I started noticing links for Webmasters Click Here. I clicked on a couple and most of the pages were asking other webmasters for traffic trades. I didn’t have a site to trade traffic with so it didn’t concern me. Besides I had heard of that before from my friend that was making $300.00 a month off the banners. Well, these sites that I was looking at weren’t trading banners for money, just traffic. I thought to myself, "This idiot isn’t going to make any money".

Then about 4 years ago I meet my wife. She told me that she did some nude modeling and would like to start a pay site of her own. The irony of it was, about the same time I saw an interview with Danni on the television. She said that she started by getting a book on html and learned it. So, following her lead I did the same thing. The next step was finding a web host. I had no luck there. My wife wanted to lose some weight before we starting shooting so I knew I had plenty of time to look around for one. And that's what I did. I was more interested in those links for Webmasters more than ever.

Finally, I arrived at a website that had such a link. I followed it and sure enough, just what I was looking for, a link to a web host. I clicked the link and my mouth fell open, this web host wanted a grand a month. My god, a thousand dollars to host a website! That seemed incredible to me. But, I love my wife and I would find away to make it happen.

Knowing that I needed some time, and besides that website had some pics I wanted to look at, I went back to that website with the links. I noticed one thing that I had never noticed before. This webmaster wasn’t selling his own stuff. He was advertising memberships to other sites. Now the internet had my undivided attention. If this webmaster could afford to pay a grand a month in hosting and still make a profit, I was very interested in learning more. And that’s what I did... I started learning more. I know this part of the story is boring, but I need to lay the ground work for why some newbies are clueless about the Adult Internet Business by using me as an example.

How does this get me to Voltar, read on:

At the time, I had no idea that I could contact a content provider and buy content all day. No clue that there are several web hosts out there that would be happy for my business. So I emailed the webmaster of that site and asked that he take mercy on me and point me in the right direction on how to get started. I received back a one-line response. "Try so and so webmaster resource site". That is precisely what I did.

Fortunately for me, they had a section for newbies. In that section was a featured article about how, what and how much money you would need to get started. I thought to myself, "Hot Dog, a gold mine of information". I read the article several times. The author said it would cost X amount of dollars. But, by the time the article was through breaking down the expenses, the numbers didn’t add up. It cost twice the amount he first mentioned. I was very disappointed. I lost all confidence that this was the webmaster resource for me. But, I also noticed some other links to other webmaster resources. We all know where that landed me. The newbie board, with Voltar running the place.

I read that board for about three weeks. I still wasn’t ready to jump in and get started. I wanted to learn everything I could this time around before I made my decision to start an adult business on the Internet. The first thing I needed, I thought, was a web host. I found what I thought was a good deal, but something didn’t seem right. I knew I could post on the board, but like most newbies, I didn’t want to look stupid in front of other people. Nor did I want anyone to find out who I am. So I went to my yahoo account and sent Voltar an email asking him for advice. I try to picture his actions as he checked his email. Here was an email from a complete stranger asking for advice on a web host.

Sure enough, not only did he answer that email, but he also set me straight on the web host. Two or three emails went back and forth with other advice. I was very surprised that he would explain in great length the answers to my questions and provide the urls to back up his advice. Not only that but gave some detail that I didn’t ask for. This was much better than the response I got from my cry for help from that first webmaster I emailed. Remembering of course, without that first webmaster taking pity on me, I wouldn’t be here today. During those first few emails from Voltar, he very patiently explained how to become a member of the resource site and strongly suggested that I start posting. When I did, a whole new world opened up for me.

The next time I was very impressed was when I sent an email to Voltar for something or other and his response was, "Here is my phone number, call me". When you’re new to the business and trying to stay reasonably anonymous, this was very impressive. That email lead to several phone calls over the last year with me picking Voltars' brain about several subjects. Never have I meet someone with the undying patience to sit still and answer the same questions over and over again and truly enjoy the look of enlightenment that people have on their face when he is finished explaining. Never mind that he is very busy and should be tending to his own business.

Then came my first meeting with Old Tom. He was having trouble with his Starband. Since he lives relatively close by, I went to his house and we spent the better part of two days working on his computer. That was the beginnings of what will turn out to be a very long friendship.

Like most friends, Old Tom suggested that I go see Voltar. It would be a trip that I wouldn’t forget. My wife and I were having dinner with Old Tom and Jojasa when the subject came up again. Both insisted that this would be a worthwhile trip. In the meantime, I emailed Voltar and sorta invited myself to his place. Two states away! He agreed and the meeting was set. Because the meeting would only last about 3 hours he suggested that I have my questions ready. To tell the truth, I didn’t have any questions. I just wanted to meet "The Man".

Voltar will tell you straight up that you have to take everything you read on the boards with a grain of salt. Even I had some reservations. I mean, why would anybody go to so much trouble and not ask me for any money. When you read the answers to your questions, or other peoples, its just words. Written in black and white. There is no tone of speech, no emotion in the words. You can’t even see the look on some on that persons face when they type in all those answers.

But during that first meeting with Voltar I could sense right away the genuine desire he has to help people. The dedicated and focused demeanor that he projects brings a certain peace of mind that he is honest in his answers. How do I know that? Easy, Voltar let me peek into his business, just a little. He not only gives you the answers to the questions you ask, but he can show how he did it and prove to you that it worked.

As the meeting progressed during the afternoon, I didn’t ask many questions. It was easy to tell that he was looking for something to talk about. But that was easy for him. He simply started showing me how he does things. My granddad always told me that if I kept my mouth shut and listened I would learn a few things. And that I did!! So, does the traffic manipulation really work, it sure does. Voltar showed me his web stats for just one domain. It was only two in the afternoon and the stats where very impressive. He also showed me the process that he goes through to pick pictures for a tour. That is a lesson I will never forget.

What did I learn? Leave no stone unturned. Look at each and every aspect of a photo that you want to use. During that conversation I mentioned that I was noticing something in the way pics are shot that I didn’t like. But I didn’t realize it was a trend. He inadvertently pointed it out to me by saying, "Yeah, but I am making lots of money with that."

That’s right folks, Voltar proved it to me. He went to his sponsor and showed me the stats. My mouth dropped opened when I did the math. The conversion was 1:200!! I am idea handicapped, so when it comes time for me to make banners, I just don’t. I can never find the right pic to make banners with. Voltar showed me, without knowing it, how to find that right pic for a banner. It is very simple trick, but the lights went on in my head.

He showed me the tours he is making. I complimented him on how much better at it he is getting. When he was showing me how he got this or that effect. He made a tour page in about 15 minutes. Well, not the whole page, but the basic layout anyway. What he taught me was the process, and how to work the graphics program to get the desired effect. Not only was he serious about what he was showing me, but he also showed me how he used those same effects on his tour pages. He PROVED to me that the tour pages worked by showing me that he used the same techniques on his current tours! I do I know they worked? He makes more money than me, LOL.

We all can take a few minutes and learn to code html, work a graphics program or do some traffic trades. But the underlying procedure for coming up with new ideas and the way to pull it all together is away that will make money is always hard. Learning and having new ideas interjected into our stubborn brains is what learning from Voltar is all about.

Should you go see Voltar? You're damn right you should. Can you afford the trip to go to whatever event is going on where he will be? Maybe not, but I suggest you go into hock to do it. You will make the money back in no time from the advice he gives you. It is money well spent!!!

So when people are telling you how to do this or that... "remember, the proof is in the pudding." Voltar can prove his advice works! :)
