The Triples Projects. You've seen Voltar's detailed instructions for them. You've seen them talked about on message boards and in chatrooms, and you've heard them discussed on radio shows. You know The Triples!

Ah, but do you really know The Triples?

If you've done your homework, even just a little, you already know that it's extremely important that The Triples be done in stages. You must first do the Triple, then the Triple Triple, and then the Triple Triple Triple. No skipping ahead to an advanced Triple before you've successfully completed the ones that come before it. No matter how much you may think that you understand the basic ones by just reading the instructions for them, you must actually do the projects, and do them in order!

Countless newbies, midbies, and oldbies alike, have successfully completed the basic Triple. And a great number of you have also successfully completed the Triple Triple. Not easy tasks by any stretch. Each level successfully completed being a great accomplishment, and one that you should definately be proud of!

Now what about the Triple Triple Triple? How many have successfully completed it according to Voltar's instructions since he first posted the project over a year and a half ago? To my knowledge the answer is just 3 people.

Why have only 3 people successfully completed the TTT according to Voltar's instructions in the past year and a half? Well, I'll share my thoughts on that with you, and these are just my own personal observations and nothing that is known as fact.

We have alot of people who have successfully completed the Triple Triple, and I believe that one of two things happens at this point.

1. Upon successfully completing the Triple Triple the webmaster may be a little behind on other projects he/she has planned because of the time that was spent doing the project, so they put doing the TTT on their "to do" list with every intention of doing the project as soon as they get caught up.

Successfully completing the TTT is a huge task, and as so, it takes time complete. You know this in advance because you've already successfully completed the Triple Triple, and you've probably already estimated the amount time that you think it will take you to complete the TTT. It's on your "to do" list along with tons of other projects that you want to do, new ideas that you want to try, new traffic sources that you'd like to test, etc... But that's just it! There's so many new things that you want to try and there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to do them all. In the meantime your "to do" list seems to grow longer with each passing day. And somewhere in there, amongst all of the great projects that you have on your "to do" list, is the huge task of doing the Triple Triple Triple. It's been there for awhile now, and it's one of those things that you definately want to do as soon as you get time.

2. Upon successfully completing the Triple Triple the webmaster may look at the instructions for the TTT and say "Ohhh! I get it!". The webmaster may also think that doing the TTT is just like doing the Triple Triple, but doing it 3 times instead. They've already completed the Triple Triple once, what more will they learn by doing it three times?

This way of thinking is of course, completely false. You can not "get it" without actually doing the project. Even if you've successfully completed the Triple Triple and have read the instructions for the TTT one hundred times, you will not "get it" until you successfully complete the project, period.

And the TTT is much more than just doing the Triple Triple three times. So much more! The knowledge that you'll gain from successfully completing the TTT is far beyond that of successfully completing the Triple Triple. And that point will be blatantly obvious to you once you have successfully completed the TTT.

A year and a half ago I successfully completed my first Triple Triple Triple. Surely, I will never forget the struggle of those 2 weeks that I spent doing the project. And a struggle it was. I laugh now because I remember that my very first thought after reading the instructions for the first time was "piece of cake". I just knew that I could have the project completed within a week.

Needless to say, my one week "piece of cake", turned into 2 weeks of pure hell that I will never forget. But I not only "got it" in the end, I learned alot about myself in those 2 weeks as well. I went from being confident as hell, full of excitement and energy, to being completely reduced to tears over a few broken links, ready to just give up and walk away. Most of it was self-imposed pressure of course. There's no time limit on successfully completing the TTT, but I had set a time limit for myself and was having an extremely difficult time handling the fact that I couldn't do it in that amount of time.

During those 2 weeks I also discovered what a truly wonderful community we have. I remember the day that I was reduced to tears over those broken links. I was so close to finishing the project, but I was ready to just give up and walk away. I remember Porn Meister comforting me, encouraging me to finish it, telling me that I could do it. I remember Voltar's email to me that day, encouraging me, telling me that he knew I could do it, that he had confidence in me. I remember getting tons of email, icq's, and phone calls from fellow community members during those 2 weeks, all of them encouraging me. At my lowest point, it was these things that gave me the confidence and strength to go on and complete the project.

What has successfully completing the TTT done for me as a webmaster? Well, I'll tell you. It gave me an extremely strong foundation to build on. And build on it I have. I started in this business 2 and a half years ago with nothing. I've gone from worrying about being able to pay hosting and content bills, to making a very comfortable living for myself and my children. Does all of the money I make today come from my TTT? No, of course it doesn't. But the TTT is the foundation.

I kind of think of it this way. You can build a skyscraper, but if it has a weak foundation it will eventually start to sink in places. You want to build a porn empire? You need a rock solid foundation to begin with. The TTT was that foundation for me, and it can be for you too.

Is the TTT still on your "to do" list? Still haven't found the time? It's all laid out there for you in black and white, waiting patiently for the next person who will step up and make the commitment to do it. Waiting patiently for the next person who is hungry for success.

For those of you that have successfully completed the Triple Triple.. It's time to take the TTT off of the "to do" list! Make the time! Do the project! You'll never be sorry that you did!
