Long Term Profits

Long term traffic is a goal that all webmasters chase after like a pair of kids running through a warm sunny meadow on a lazy afternoon, chasing butterflies and putting them in jars. Such is the nature of traffic. Up, down, around the corner, the guy next door is doing better at catching his fluttering traffic, and then you are, and your eyes gleam with innocent joy as your smile is the one that, for that instant, everyone is looking at as doing better. The net ebbs and flows like the tall grass in the breeze on that meadow. Just like butterflies, if you jar up the traffic without allowing it to flow a little, it dies off. Such is where traffic trades and recips come into play.

But where do you get the long term base traffic from to begin with? Where is your base built and how long term and steady is it? The answer is easy, but takes time to understand how much so that really is.

When you build your sites, galleries and web pages, consider them always as permanent. They should be sales pages or you shouldn't have them up anyway. We are talking from a business point of view. Your business, your future, 401k on the net that you are building for yourself. Yes that's correct, its your overall base of hundreds and thousands of pages that get a few hits a day that add up to a serious bank of traffic for you to tap into and try new things, profit from, and to count on. These pages get long term traffic from being archived, spidered, and link trades. You NEVER delete pages off the web. Its like having money in an account waiting for your future needs. These needs can be many and varying quite a large degree, but, the most common are vacations, illness, holidays, and disasters (such as tornadoes hitting your home and business).

On the pages you have, you have various people linking to you. It's not standard to change or delete pages after a set amount of time. What you do is delete your base, delete money, and delete your reputation. You see, most people consider link trades with anywhere that has archives or listings that continue to grow without removing your pages or sites, as permanent. This is a very good source of traffic. It's long term and has plenty of spiders to keep you getting a few search engine hits. Spread over hundreds and thousands of pages it builds to a very nice amount of traffic on a daily basis. It's targeted in most cases. It's someone actually taking the time to look for what you have, so they have an interest in it. You makes sales long term this way. It's how you build your empire a web page at a time.

Removing the pages and sites hurts you more than you will ever be totally aware of. Not only the traffic you lose, but the building amount of long term traffic and profits that come from it. You also lose something of deep value as well. You lose something with every single link site or tgp that has to remove your page and possibly blacklist your domain(s). You lose the networking and reputation you build. Don't be the one who loses his reputation and his (or her) future. You work hard to have it and to make it all it is. So don't go after very short term gains of redirected traffic from those sources. You could have it banked forever making you money, not just next week.

Now go make some permanent sites and web pages for the web. Get that long term profiting in gear. You'll be glad you did!
