Making Money With AVS

How *does* an AVS site make money?

There are three primary ways: Initial sale, upsell, and traffic.

A surfer arrives at your AVS doorway, and purchases an AVS membership so as to see what's inside. This is the initial sale; you make money. Thus, your AVS tour should be aimed at making that sale.

The second method is the upsell. Once that surfer is inside your AVS site, you *know* that person has whipped out a credit card at some point, to pay for access to online porn. It no longer matters if *you* got credit for that AVS sale. What matters is that this surfer is pre-qualified, *and* this surfer is interested in what this particular site has to offer. You know that because he bothered to surf on in. Offer something for sale on the inside; that's the upsell.

Third is traffic. What's the big advantage to an AVS membership, from the surfer's point of view? With the single membership fee, they get access to those tens or hundreds of thousands of sites. Every AVS has what's called an internal links list. It's a listing of all sites available to that surfer with that AVS pass. Having purchased the membership, that surfer will naturally want to visit as many of those sites as might be of interest.

Here are two points to consider. First, there is no way that surfer can find *all* of those sites. Not when hundreds of thousands are available. Therefore, our surfer must pick and choose. If he or she finds *your* site, you *know* there is something there of particular interest. Upsell!

The second point to consider is the traffic flow. The AVS's internal linklist is an excellent source of prequalified traffic. When your surfer is done with the one site, send him or her along through the rest of your empire. In other words, place a link to one of your hubs, at the bottom of your inside menu page, and as the last link of the last gallery they'll be viewing. Make it easy for them to continue on, to more of your stuff.

Okay, so you want to make money from AVS. As a webmaster, what do you *do*? What is the process?

You need to choose your upsell, your content, design and build the site. You need to register the site with the AVS, and put the join script in place. You need to wait for the site to get accepted, and *then* submit it to the Search Engines and AVS-friendly linklists. You need to add it to your hub, and make sure you have the links *to* the hub in place, running through your Full Page Ad.

As you know, there is more than one AVS out there. For a "regular" AVS site of 10-50 pictures, you can usually build one single members area, and then separate doorways for the AVSs you use. If you build for five different AVSs, you'll want to put all five entrances on your hub, and submit all five entrances to the Search Engines and AVS-friendly linklists.

Oh - wait - you can't submit five copies of the same site to the same linklist. Or, for that matter, to the hand-edited Search Engines. Meanwhile, most AVSs can handle more than one site submission per day; but most linklists can *not*.

Like with freesites, then, it's a numbers game. But, it's a *different* numbers game. With freesites, you're going for the upsell, and for the traffic. With AVS, you have prequalified your traffic, and you're also going for that initial sale. You're also going for another traffic *source*, namely the AVS internal linklist.
