Yada Yada - Gold Medal

Ok so tonight's hockey game are the last ones until after the finals of the Olympic medal games. So if you are like most people, you're wondering why, since the Olympics started several days ago.

As part of the ever increasing bizarre involvement of the NHL players it appears some of the teams have to make it into the next round of play, while other "big boys" are already in and have a later start.

So what this meant is some of the players that were supposed to represent their countries had to sit and watch while their teams were eliminated from the Olympics. This was due to the agreement between the Olympic committee and the NHL. One country had even gone so far as to arrange for the NHL player to sit on the bench during the game, hoping to spur the team on to victory. Yes, I said sit on the bench. Not play, just sit, otherwise it would have broken the agreement between the two organizations.

If you remember one of my previous articles you will know I'm not a fan of the pro players in the game to begin with. With that aside, the more I see and read and hear about how this whole hockey piece unfolds I shake my head more and more. The one that really blows my mind is the fact that none of the NHL players that are participating were allowed to participate in the opening ceremony. I would venture a far-fetched guess that the closing ceremonies are out of the question also. Hell, I'm surprised they are allowed to actually accepts a medal if the team wins one. More fuel to my argument they should leave the games to the amateurs.

Now that I'm done complaining about the format and silly rules lets give a quick recap to the standings.
