To Turn a Phrase

Pastaboy is a little busy with some major projects he's got going this week so I'll be jumping in here and doing this little search engine article on taking your meta keywords a step further for targeted traffic.

Oh, by the way, I'm Voltar. If you don't know me or who I am, let's just say I'm not a search engine guru, heck even the people claiming to be search engine gurus, aren't. You see, search engines are like living breathing things. They have habits and customs and surfers flow through them like blood does through your veins. Things and directions change in a heartbeat and if you're not watching and paying attention you can loose track and lose listings.

Following a search engine is more like being a doctor than anything else. You have this living thing you have to keep up with, feed, predict the causes of it's changes and moods. Okay, this is starting to sound more like you're married to it, now that I think about it. Well, back to me for a second. I'm no search engine guru, I just get lucky sometimes. If you're looking for help drop on by VNWR and ask some questions on the message board there. You'll find some great help and answers.

The search engines, well many of them, key off of meta keywords on your page for what to list you under in searches. A common thing that people do is to make this list of keywords as single stand alone keywords separated by commas. Good way to start, bad way to continue after you've gotten your feet wet at search engine traffic. Don't get me wrong, I've gotten plenty of number search engine listings this way. What I'm about to tell you will get you MORE.

Take your web page and niche based keywords and look at them. What are you wanting them to be found under in the search engines? Can you name what it is you want to have top 10 search engine listings under for that webpage? Odds are that you can. But odds are also that it wasn't one word phrases either. It was probably a small series of words creating a phrase.

In my research I've found that the surfers most commonly type in 3 word phrases when using search engines. Like "naked cheerleader sex", "hot latina sluts", "pornstar pussy pics", and "free naked women". You see the point is that they search for more than one thing. Having that exact phrase on your page and in your meta keywords can bring you some top targeted search engine listings that you would never have had much a chance of getting because they involve commonly used keywords that millions of other sites are trying to get the top 10 listings with.

So yes, go look at your pages and add in some targeted phrases. Include some highly targeted 2, 3, and 4 word phrases in your meta keywords. Also, use some off the wall or comical phrases and be amazed at what people actually look up in search engines. These are gold mines, so make them count with using them on pages made to sell your sponsors. Hint of the week: this is an excellent way to get full page ads some high rankings and listings in the search engines.

This one last thought for you to ponder as I wrap up this article. When was the last time you ever looked for anything at a search engine with only one word?

VNWR and the DFN Weekly gives you the keys to your future profits. Take care and Pastaboy will be back here next week with his SE Noodles.
