5. Select "COMMAND/CTRL+E" to merge down the type layer, or select Layer -> Type -> Render Layer(MAC)/Create Graphic(WIN).
6. Select Filter -> Distort and choose Ocean Ripple... from the submenu. Play around with the sliders then "ENTER/OK."

7. Select File -> Save As... to save your work.

Air
1. Select File -> New and create a new canvas.
2. Select a foreground color for a sky, as well as a background color for some clouds by clicking the foreground and background swatches in the toolbar.
3. Select Filter -> Render and choose Clouds from the submenu to create a basic sky as a background.
4. Select the Type Tool from the toolbar and type in the word "Air".
5. Select "COMMAND/CTRL+E" to merge down the type layer, or select Layer -> Type -> Render Layer(MAC)/Create Graphic(WIN).
6. Select Filter -> Stylize and choose Wind... from the submenu. Select the "Wind" radio button and set the direction in the dialog box and hit "ENTER/OK."
7. Select File -> Save As... to save your work.

Fire
1. Select File -> New and create a new canvas.
2. Select Edit -> Fill and choose Black from the dialog box's pulldown menu, then hit "ENTER/OK".
3. Select the Type Tool from the toolbar and type in the word "Fire".
4. Select "COMMAND/CTRL+E" to merge down the type layer, or select Layer -> Type -> Render Layer(MAC)/Create Graphic(WIN).
5. Select Filter -> Stylize and choose Wind... from the submenu. Select the "Wind" radio button and set the direction "From the right" in the dialog box and hit "ENTER/OK."
6. Select COMMAND/CTRL+F to repeat the filter to increase the wind.
7. Select Filter -> Stylize and choose Wind... from the submenu. Select the "Wind" radio button and set the direction "From the left" in the dialog box and hit "ENTER/OK."
8. Select COMMAND/CTRL+F to repeat the filter to increase the wind from the left as done previously.

9. Select Image -> Rotate Canvas and choose 90 degrees CW from the dialog box and hit "ENTER/OK".
10. Repeat steps 6-9 to blow the wind from the remaining directions
. 10. Select Image -> Rotate Canvas and choose 90 degrees CCW, then hit "ENTER/OK" to return the graphic to its original orientation.


12. Select Image -> Mode and choose Grayscale from the submenu.
13. Select Image -> Mode and choose Indexed Color from the submenu.
14. Select Image -> Mode and choose Color Table... from the submenu, then select Black Body from the dialog's pulldown menu. This will add that fiery color we're looking for. The resulting image will make the type unreadable, but that's easy to deal with
15. Select the Type Tool from the toolbar and type in the word "Fire" again, using the same font and size as used in step 3. Position the type over the flames and bang!
16. Select File -> Save As... to save your work.
